The pay range is $135,000.00 - $243,000.00

Pay is based on several factors which vary based on position. These include labor markets and in some instances may include education, work experience and certifications. Within the Loyalty team, you will lead enterprise strategy for Target Circle promotional events and priority audience plans, driving measurable guest and business impact. This role sits at the center of enterprise collaboration — connecting Marketing, Merchandising, Digital and Experience teams to deliver integrated, guest-centric activations that advance both program and enterprise goals.

Target’s Loyalty team is seeking a Director to lead strategy, innovation, and partnerships for our loyalty ecosystem. This role is responsible for shaping the future of loyalty at Target—defining where we play, how we differentiate, and how we expand value for our guests through new capabilities and partnerships.

Leading a small, high-performing team, you will bring an external lens on competitors, industry trends, and emerging models, translating insights into actionable strategies that drive long-term growth and guest engagement. Loyalty Strategy & Enterprise Alignment

  • Define and evolve the long-term strategy and roadmap for the loyalty program
  • Ensure alignment with enterprise priorities across merchandising, marketing, and digital
  • Identify where loyalty can uniquely drive guest growth, engagement, and differentiation
Innovation & Future-Focused Growth
  • Lead the innovation agenda for loyalty, identifying new capabilities, experiences, and business models
  • Drive test-and-learn initiatives to pilot and scale new program features
  • Bring forward forward-looking perspectives to future-proof the program
Competitive & Industry Intelligence
  • Monitor competitive loyalty programs and broader industry trends
  • Translate insights into strategic recommendations that strengthen Target’s market position
Partnerships & Ecosystem Expansion
  • Define and execute partnership strategy to expand the value of the loyalty ecosystem
  • Identify, evaluate, and prioritize partnerships (e.g., financial, retail, experiential, digital)
  • Build business cases and support execution of high-impact partnerships
Cross-Functional Leadership
  • Partner closely with Product, Marketing, Finance, and Enterprise Strategy teams

About You
  • 10–12 years of experience in strategy, innovation, partnerships, or related fields
  • 3+ years of people leadership experience
  • Strong experience in strategic planning, business case development, or new venture/initiative development
  • Proven ability to influence senior stakeholders and drive cross-functional alignment

Preferred
  • Experience in loyalty, membership, or customer engagement programs
  • Background in retail, e-commerce, fintech, or marketplaces
  • Experience evaluating or managing strategic partnerships
  • Familiarity with test-and-learn or innovation framework
