Love writing? Looking to jumpstart your editorial career? If the answer to both of

these questions is yes, you should apply to be our new Writer! In this full-time role,

you’ll be working as part of the Sassy Mama Team to support the editorial team.

We’re on the hunt for an organised, quick learner with initiative and amazing writing

skills. You’ll also need sound computer skills, as you’ll be responsible for creating our

newsletters, uploading posts to our Sassy Mama site and other important

administrative tasks!

ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES

- Work with the editorial team to contribute story ideas, create engaging content,

update existing posts, write original high-traffic content.

- Upload daily posts on the site and format as needed with images and links and do

a final proofread before publishing/scheduling.

- Assist in editing posts where needed.

- Assist the Editors with SEO keywords, helping upload content or image sourcing

when needed.

- Write roundups, creative articles and advertorials as assigned by the Managing

Editor.

- Attend relevant media events

Other responsibilities include:

- Create Newsletters and eDMs, including advertorial eDMs, and the weekly Sassy

Mama newsletters as assigned by the Managing Editor.

- Work with Editors to finalise and approve the weekly newsletters and schedule

send-out.

In addition, the Writer will:

- Post event albums to our social media platforms

- Create and publish social media content from shoots, such as event albums and

reels, across our social media platforms.

- Manage the directory sections, uploading new content and revising entries as

needed.

- Sit in on editorial meetings.

- Assist in copywriting and scheduling Facebook and Telegram posts, ensuring

alignment with brand tone and messaging.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

Education & Experience

- Have completed a degree in a relevant field with 1 - 2 years of experience in a

similar role. Candidates with internship experience may also be considered.

- Be confident in using WordPress

- Be confident in using social media platforms.

- Knowledge of Mailing Service Providers such as Campaign Monitor or Mailchimp a

plus.

- Be fluent in written and spoken English (native level).

Skills & Competencies

- A passion for writing is a must.

- Ability to work independently to set deadlines, and to work as part of a team on

projects.

- Be able to adapt and react to new tasks when needed.

- Be highly organised with great attention to detail and time management skills.

- Knowledge of SEO and best digital practices is preferred.
