Warehouse Clerk - 1st. shift - $23/hour +*per hour

The warehouse clerk position is responsible for transferring inventory in AS400 system; assisting customers at the will-call window; answering telephone calls; entering data; performing clerical duties; processing bills of lading; and providing forklift drivers with necessary information for product movement; order processing and inventory control; and monitoring and verifying quality assurance hold inventory on a daily basis.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Transfer raw product from the warehouse to the plant and finished goods to the vendors. Investigate and correct inventory errors and notify supervisors of any discrepancies.
  • Log receipts into the product report by verifying amounts, product code dates and product numbers entering data into the computer system
  • Process bills of lading by ensuring product is available in the inventory; prepare bills of lading for customer shipments; investigate and correct any inventory errors and prepare handbills for outbound shipments.
  • Assists customers at the will-call window by receiving product and/or packages; notify recipient(s) of package(s) received; direct drivers to appropriate locations for product pick-up or delivery. Receive and initiate phone calls to set appointments for deliveries.
  • Performs other duties as directed by any member of management.
Minimum Job Requirements:
Education/Certifications:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
Experience:
  • One year of experience in shipping and receiving is required
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Job requires knowledge/understanding of operational, technical and office processes
  • Ability to use office equipment to include, but not limited to, computer and related software and hardware, fax machine, copy machine, calculator and FedEx Power Ship.
  • Ability to work under time constraints and meet deadlines.
  • Position is subject to overtime and irregular hours.

Working Conditions and Physical Effort:
  • Work involves daily exposure to unusual elements, such as dirt, dust, fumes, darkness, and/or noise. Seasonal exposure to weather elements to include, but not limited to, extreme temperatures, wetness and humidity.
  • Work environment involves daily exposure to physical risks, such as working around mechanical equipment, forklifts, chemical hazards, and electrical hazards.
  • Position requires the ability to stand at the will-call window, sitting frequently at a desk, walking around office and plant, lifting and carrying packages up to 50 pounds, utilizing fine dexterity, reaching and kneeling on a daily basis. Also requires the ability to see; hear; and communicate with associates as well as others by utilizing professional etiquette.
  • Personal protective equipment, as defined by C.H. Guenther and Sons will be provided.
