<p>The Food Bank of York Region (FBYR) is dedicated to alleviating food insecurity and hunger in York Region. We serve as a nexus between the abundance of surplus food in Ontario and the non-profit organizations that provide food and meals in their programs, and the people they serve.<br><br>The Food Bank of York Region (FBYR) counts on the help of our volunteers to meet the need of our hunger relief efforts. We have the food our communities need, but it takes hands-on help to deliver it to our neighbours experiencing food insecurity. Our volunteers’ involvement is crucial to the success of our food program.<br><br>Essential Duties and Responsibilities</p><ul><li>Performing data entry and maintaining accurate records in computerized systems.</li><li>Ensuring data accuracy and confidentiality.</li><li>Providing administrative support to the FBYR management team.</li><li>Organizing, and maintaining files and records.</li><li>Researching information online.</li><li>Supports with the maintenance of an organized and orderly office space, and warehouse.</li><li>Greeting and assisting visitors, clients, and guests.</li><li>Represents FBYR well when interacting with community members.</li><li>Other duties as assigned</li></ul><p>Requirements</p><ul><li>Ability to work well with numbers</li><li>Attention to details</li><li>Must be okay with performing repetitive tasks.</li><li>Able to work independently; self-directed and as a team. </li><li>Must be dependable and punctual</li><li>Strong customer service skills with a friendly demeanor.</li><li>Must be courteous and personable when dealing with the public</li><li>Must respect and maintain the confidentiality of FBYR volunteers, partners, and donors.</li><li>Previous experience in office or administration is preferred.</li><li>English B-1 profinciency preferred</li></ul><p><strong>Shift & Schedule</strong></p><ul><li>1 or 2 days per week.</li><li>Minimum one 5-hour shift per week</li><li>Minimum 2-month commitment</li></ul><p><br> </p>
