This is an experienced VDC Specialist position where the incumbent will translate design intent contract documents or 3D design models of Plumbing, Mechanical and HVAC systems into fabrication and installation detail Building Information Models (BIM’s) utilizing BIM fabrication modelling software. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: • Work with engineers and managers to produce LOD400 BIM for mechanical and plumbing systems. • Work with General Contractor and other subcontractors to achieve spatial coordination of all trades. • Attend weekly coordination meetings, either onsite or virtually, to achieve spatial coordination of all trades • Generate RFI’s to be submitted to the design team when required • Create detailed shop drawings for the purposes of fabrication and installation of associated trades • Creation and annotation of shop drawings • Creation and annotation of hanger drawings • Creation and annotation of sleeve drawings • Creation and export of hanger and sleeve coordinates to be utilized by the robotic total station layout team for field layout • Communicate with field personnel, when required, to ensure that fabrication and installation intent is clearly communicated on shop and spool drawings • Mentor and train Junior VDC Specialists • On the job training on the use of modelling and collaboration software • On the job training on the creation of fabrication and installation drawings and documents • Shop drawings • Hanger drawings • Sleeve drawings • Bills of materials • Pipe cut lists • Fabrication labels • Hanger labels • reports • Work with other team members to complete drawings and models as required to meet project schedules • Maintain training and continued education for incumbent and team to continually improve accuracy and productivity • Provide Input to management regarding both hardware and software requirements to perform duties Supervisory / Budgetary / External Communication Responsibility • Ability to read, comprehend, and interpret technical literature/writing and plans • Ability to define problems, assess options and make appropriate recommendations • Ability to distinguish between shades of color • Competence in public speaking/presentations • Self-driven desire to learn, become competent, and succeed in field • Good verbal and written communication skills with ability to train and mentor • Good self-management and organizational skills • Professional demeanor • Good analytical skills and ability to generate creative solutions • Ability to perform well and meet expectations in a fast-paced environment • Good interpersonal skills • Ability to coordinate project activities and monitor progress to successfully reach project goals • Good self-management and organizational skills • Ability and willingness to demonstrate ethical behavior and a high level of integrity • Ability to balance team and individual responsibilities • Ability manage stress and job demands • Ability to cooperatively work with others Qualifications: Education/experience: • 2 or more years of experience with installation or 3D modelling of mechanical or plumbing systems. • Proficiency in Autodesk Revit, AutoCAD, Autodesk Fabrication CADMEP and Autodesk Navisworks • Knowledge of other BIM related software is a plus • A working familiarity and proficiency with arenaflex Office Suite products including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint and ability to be trained in use of the Company-specific applications and software Must: • Be proficient in Window operating system and arenaflex Office applications • Communicate effectively oral and written communication • Learn and apply new information quickly and effectively Equal Opportunity Employer/Veterans/Disabled #Bandk #Onsite #Remote Apply tot his job
