The Ultrasound Tech performs diagnostic ultrasound procedures to include calibration and operation of ultrasound equipment and coordination of patient care activities with other healthcare professionals.

Principal Responsibilities:
  • Schedules and performs ultrasound procedures by performing proper diagnostic scan recognition; maintains quality assurance/improvement standards of procedures.
  • Correlates ultrasound procedures with patient medical history.
  • Maintains patient records and completes patient discharges.
  • Cleans and maintains equipment; ensures stock of supplies by placing orders.

Qualifications

Education:

  • High School Diploma/GED Required
  • Vocational/Technical Diploma, graduate of an accredited ultrasound program required

Work Experience:

  • 2 years Diagnostic ultrasound sonographer required

Licenses and Certifications:

  • Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) or the American Registry of Radiologic Technology Sonography Certification – ARRT (S) Upon Hire Required
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Basic Life Support Certification needs to be the AHA Healthcare Provider type only Upon Hire Required
