Treasury Analyst

Description of position

The Treasury Analyst’s main responsibilities will be to support the activities of Costco's Canadian Treasury Department.

Daily tasks and responsibilities

  • Leads the sourcing, validation, preparation and payment of Property tax payments.
  • Coordinates reviews of third party/landlord tax reconciliations and billings with leases and processes payments.
  • Assists with the preparation of Property Tax budgets.
  • Researches and prepares license applications for new licenses needed for existing and new Warehouses.
  • Renews licenses for existing businesses, such as business licenses, propane license, gas licenses, etc.
  • Tracks and meets numerous licensing deadlines.
  • Assist in monitoring, researching and interpreting changes to regulatory statutes to ensure compliance with licensing requirements.
  • Requests surety bonds/ Letters of Guarantee for construction, licensing and other department requirements.
  • Prepares manual expense cheques and updates system for all companies (Costco Wholesale, Costco Canada Liquor, Costco Travel, etc.).
  • Processes electronic payments on RBC Express that include wire transfer, bill payment, PAD, Online Tax, etc., for all companies.
  • Performs other treasury-related tasks as required (cheque stop payments, bank signature cards, vendor maintenance, ATM Reporting, armoured car invoices, USD FX reports, Daily Cash flow, LC report, bank charges reconciliation, withholding taxes, etc.)
  • Facilitates research and communicates effectively with banking operations, accounting, and warehouses to resolve discrepancies and banking related issues.
