The Opportunity
We are seeking a driven, energetic, and highly accountable Staff Accountant to join our team. This role offers the opportunity to take ownership of key accounting functions in a fast-paced environment. The successful candidate will thrive in a remote setting, manage competing priorities, and consistently meet deadlines while maintaining high standards of accuracy and professionalism.

What You’ll Do
Oversee full-cycle Accounts Payable including invoice review, coding, entry, payment processing, credit card reconciliations, vendor communication, account reconciliations, credit notes, and financial adjustments.
Process and own bi-weekly payroll for two companies using Payworks, ensuring accuracy, compliance, reconciliations, and preparation of T4s.
Own the month-end close process including preparation of working papers, posting accruals, reviewing expense classifications, and preparing internal financial statements.
Assist with the budgeting process and financial planning activities.
Leverage AI tools regularly to improve workflows, reporting, and operational efficiency.
Utilize advanced Excel formulas to support financial analysis and reporting.
Thrive in a fast-paced environment, take full ownership of deliverables, manage competing priorities, and consistently meet strict deadlines without close supervision.

Minimum Qualifications
Minimum 4+ years of experience in a fast-paced accounting role.
Post-secondary degree in Accounting or Finance preferred (or equivalent experience considered).
Strong proficiency in MS Excel (advanced formulas required).
Comfortable using AI tools to enhance productivity and process efficiency.
Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively in a remote environment.
Self-starter with high accountability, strong deadline management, and an energetic, go-getter mindset.

Nice to Have
Experience processing payroll end-to-end.
Knowledge of MS Business Central.
