Role Overview

The Senior Category Manager, Target Plus is accountable for driving category growth and profitability within Target's third-party marketplace. This role oversees assortment, pricing, promotions, and financial planning, leveraging guest insights, market trends, and partner analytics to maximize performance. As a strategic connector, the Senior Category Manager partners across global teams - including Merchandising, Site Experience, Marketing, Product, Operations, and Guest Services - to deliver a seamless, inspiring digital shopping experience.

What You'll Do

Lead Category Strategy & Execution - Own assortment, pricing, promotions, and marketing to drive growth while balancing short-term performance with long-term opportunity.
Strengthen Target's 3P Marketplace (Target Plus) - Optimize the partner ecosystem, identify white space opportunities, and deliver differentiated assortments that elevate the guest experience.
Turn Insights into Action - Use KPIs, guest behavior, competitive trends, and partner analytics to shape strategies and improve conversion.
Collaborate Across the Enterprise - Partner with Merchandising, Site Experience, Marketing, Product, Operations, Business Planning, and Guest Services teams to deliver a seamless and inspiring digital experience.
Consult on Financial Planning - Ensure accuracy in forecasting, alignment to goals, and accountability to results for your categories.
Influence & Communicate - Share strategies, updates, and performance clearly with leadership, peers, and cross-functional partners to align and drive impact.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree (B.A. or B.S.) required.
8+ years of experience in merchandising, inventory management, forecasting, or product selection (including open-to-buy management).
3+ years of eCommerce experience; marketplace/3P expertise strongly preferred.
Proven business acumen with a track record of building industry relationships and leveraging data analytics to inform decisions.
Expertise in business planning, forecasting, and defining KPIs to drive execution of business strategy.
Entrepreneurial and performance-driven, with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, startup-like environment.
Resilient and adaptable, with strong problem-solving skills and the ability to bring clarity and decisiveness in complex or changing situations.
Excellent communicator with strong planning, organizational, and cross-functional collaboration capabilities.

This position may be considered for a Remote or Hybrid (known internally at Target as "Flex for Your Day") work arrangement based on Target's needs.? A Remote work arrangement means the team member works?full-time from home or?an alternate?location that's not a Target location, does not have a desk at a Target location and may travel to HQ up to 4 times a year.?
