About the Team

The Enterprise Data Architecture and Data Platform team is a central organization built to establish enterprise-wide standards and capabilities as scalable solutions to be used across the enterprise. This team defines and manages enterprise data architectures and AI data readiness working with Enterprise Architecture that ensures consistency, scale, controls and compliance to how data is managed. This organization is also responsible for enterprise capabilities including vendor solutions as product owners.

Role Summary

As a Sr. Enterprise Dat Architect, you will be accountable and responsible for coordinating, documenting, communicating and governing on enterprise Data and Data AI architectures. This role requires a deep understanding of modern cloud data and AI architectures, and excellent communication skills to effectively lead and collaborate with various teams and stakeholders.This role will also assist in the documentation of our target state architectures, guiding principles and frameworks. This role may also be involved in training engineers across the enterprise. The governance of core platforms/tools may also be required.Seeking energetic and creative person who enjoys designing and implementing data and AI capabilities that can scale across the enterprise. This role will require hands on experience and will design and build frameworks for broader use in data and AI capabilities.

Responsibilities

  • Practicing accountability for self and sometimes others, provides process and standards advice in area of specialization
  • Understanding and advocating EA principles and articulating value proposition of architecture to technology partners
  • Managing and continuously improving the design and implementation of architecture processes and artifacts
  • Ensuring our firm's projects engage architecture early and often on architecturally significant projects
  • Reviewing key design decisions with departmental architecture review boards
  • Ensuring decisions around architecture are made and deviations from standards are properly identified, addressed, and communicated. Raises issues to the Principal Architects and Senior Managers as necessary
  • Participating in and leading reviews of projects that are in flight. Works closely with technical leads of projects contributing solutions to the project's most challenging problems and able to be hands on as needed
  • Ensuring that all individual solution architecture artifacts and changes are documented as per process standards and stored in T. Rowe Price's EA Library to facilitate compliance, organization, and access
  • Coordinating with other enterprise architects as necessary for solution architecture
  • Taking control of complex or vague problems and steps through them in a rational way.
  • Balancing tactical vs. strategic trade-offs when making decisions or proposing solutions
  • Flexibility in your thinking; you excel at providing solutions when additional information or ideas are presented.
  • Mentoring junior members of the team
  • Identifying when junior engineers need help and providing support in a positive way that promotes confidence.
  • Dedicated to helping team members/makes suggestions to improve practice


Qualifications

Required:

We are looking for an experienced architect with a passion for data and a talent for driving technical consensus. We value your background and we place a high emphasis on your ability to continuously learn and master new technologies. The ideal candidate will have:

  • A Bachelor's or Master's degree in a technical field with 5+ years of experience in data-intensive roles, ideally in Asset Management or a related financial services or highly regulated industry.
  • A proven track record leading the design and architecture of robust, scalable, and secure data solutions on Snowflake and cloud-native platform (preferably AWS), ensuring designs meet critical non-functional requirements.
  • The ability to provide technical leadership, defining architectural patterns and best practices and driving their adoption across engineering teams.
  • A genuine passion for hands-on engineering; you are as comfortable whiteboarding an architecture as you are prototyping a solution in code.
  • Deep, hands-on expertise with a modern data stack, including AWS, Snowflake, Dagster or like orchestrator, dbt, and Spark, Cortex AI, Snowpark Container services, etc.
  • A collaborative mindset with excellent communication skills, capable of engaging both technical and non-technical audiences.

Preferred:

  • An understanding of the asset management business and/or financial markets

Work Flexibility

This role is eligible for hybrid work, with up to three days per week from home.

Base Salary Ranges

$121,000.00 - $206,000.00 for the location of: Maryland, Colorado, Washington and remote workers
$133,000.00 - $227,000.00 for the location of: Washington, D.C.
$151,000.00 - $258,000.00 for the location of: New York, California

Placement within the range provided above is based on the individual's relevant experience and skills for the role. Base salary is only one component of our total compensation package. Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus, which is determined upon company and individual performance.
