Sr. Director of Facilities and Construction with Nemours Children's Hospital, Wilmington, DE As the Sr. Director of Facilities and Construction at Nemours you will oversee the planning , development, and implementation of construction projects and facility management initiatives within an organization. Responsible for managing budgets, timelines , and resources to ensure projects are completed on t ime and within budget. Collaborates with internal and external stakeholders to ensure that facilities meet the organization's needs and comply with regulations and safety standards. Provides strategic direction and leadership to the facilities and construction team to drive operational efficiency and excellence. Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain local operating entity management master facility plans for all major facilities.
  • Lead construction, renovation , and expansion projects from concept to completion.
  • Coordinate with architects, contractors, and internal stakeholders to ensure timely delivery.
  • Prepare and manage multi-million-dollar capital and operational budgets.
  • Forecast future facility needs and allocate resources effectively.
  • Oversee preventive and corrective maintenance programs for building systems (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, life safety).
  • Manage environmental services and infection control standards.
  • E nsu r e adherence to Joint Commission, CMS , OSHA, and state/local regulations.
  • Maintain readiness for inspections and accreditation processes.
  • Develop and implement long-term facilities management strategies aligned with organizational objectives.
  • Drive sustainability initiatives in space planning to achieve optimal functioning and program operations.
  • Development and execution of construction Risk Assessment and Infection Control Plans for all construction projects at all locations to ensure the safety of our patients, families , vis i tors , and staff.
  • Mentor and develop a high-performing facilities team.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Faciliteis Management or related field
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in facilities management, with minimum of 5 years senior leadership experience within healthcare
  • Proficiency with CMMS, AutoCAD, and other facilities management technologies
