<div><h2>Overview</h2><p>Alternate Locations: Work from Home; US All Regions</p><p>Work Arrangement: Remote - Work at home employee residing outside of a commutable distance to an office location.</p><p>Relocation assistance: is not available for this opportunity.</p><p>Requisition #: 75155</p><h2>The Role at a Glance</h2><p>As an Underwriting Specialist on the Specialty Health team, you will be responsible for underwriting Supplemental Health (Accident, Critical Illness, and Hospital Indemnity) products. You will perform and deliver on routine assignments / projects while simultaneously leveraging and applying your knowledge. You will assess financial risks related to insurance products, determine price at which LFG will accept risks, alter coverage plans/levels based on risk & pricing, and bind LFG in transactions for insurance products. You will determine whether to accept or reject a risk based on your analysis of the customer’s information.</p><h2>What you\'ll be doing</h2><ul><li>Underwriting new business opportunities for profitable growth. Underwriting includes, but is not limited to, financial risk assessment, contract comparison, demographic analysis, and experience-rating.</li><li>Completing RFP documents including proposals, questionnaires, bid forms and online quote platforms.</li><li>Maintaining proficiency of Lincoln’s pricing and reporting tools.</li><li>Managing an assigned inforce book of business by handling change requests and renewals.</li><li>Developing and maintaining relationships with assigned field offices.</li><li>Consulting and negotiating with Distribution partners.</li><li>Collaborating with core underwriters to coordinate proposals and renewals on shared customers.</li><li>Coordinating with operational teams to ensure accurate preparation of plans with appropriate coverage levels and pricing.</li><li>Identifying and communicating process improvements that improve efficiency and/or quality of work.</li><li>Participating in projects related to process improvements, documentation and increasing underwriting knowledge and acumen.</li><li>Adhering to Lincoln’s underwriting guidelines and authority limits.</li><li>Assisting with other assignments/projects as needed during peak and off-seasons.</li><li>Maintaining knowledge of current and emerging trends and taking appropriate actions to incorporate into underwriting practices to maintain Lincoln’s competitive advantage.</li><li>Promoting and enhancing organizational initiatives by positively influencing and supporting change management and/or departmental/enterprise initiatives.</li><li>Adhering to departmental and corporate compliance documentation and reporting requirements.</li></ul><h2>What we’re looking for</h2><p>Must-Haves:</p><ul><li>4 Year/Bachelor\'s degree or equivalent work experience (4 years of experience in lieu of Bachelor\'s)</li><li>1 - 3+ Years of Supplemental Health underwriting experience directly aligned to the specific responsibilities for this role.</li></ul><h2>What’s it like to work here?</h2><p>At Lincoln Financial Group, we love what we do. The base pay is just one component of Lincoln’s total rewards package for employees. In addition, the role may be eligible for the Annual Incentive Program, which is discretionary and based on the performance of the company, business unit and individual.
