Job Description: Job Title: Software Program Manager, Emulex Connectivity Division (ECD) Location: Irvine, California (with responsibilities covering global teams, including Bangalore and Hyderabad) Overview Broadcom's Emulex Connectivity Division (ECD) is seeking a highly organized and proactive Software Program Manager to act as the central point of coordination and acceleration for our global software development and release cycles. This role is critical in driving programs from initial requirements definition through to General Availability (GA) release, focusing on active ownership, problem-solving, and impediment removal and goes beyond simply tracking status. The ideal candidate will be adept at cross-functional communication, process optimization, and managing complex stakeholder relationships across engineering, marketing, and external partners. Key Responsibilities 1. Program Management and Execution Requirements Definition and Tracking: Initiate, track, and manage all program requirements, ensuring detailed scope and tasks are clearly defined. Drive to GA: Actively manage and push weekly program calls, ensuring all teams are aligned, dependencies are clear, and actions are immediately driven to completion to achieve project timelines (e.g., GA targets). Impediment Removal: Proactively identify and resolve cross-functional roadblocks, resource conflicts, and other issues that threaten program velocity. Stakeholder Communication: Serve as the primary communication channel, summarizing meeting outcomes, necessary actions, and communicating critical updates to relevant internal and external stakeholders. Release Management: Maintain clear visibility into overall project progress and actively drive initiatives toward successful GA release to the web. 2. Cross-Functional Collaboration & Partner Management Central Liaison: Act as the central point of contact, facilitating discussions and information exchange between various teams, including Firmware (FW), Driver, Architecture, Marketing, DVT (Design Verification Test), SCM (Supply Chain Management), and Technical Publications. External Partner Management (OSV Focus): Serve as the Partner Manager for Operating System Vendors (OSVs), assisting team members with accessing bug tracking services and ensuring timely follow-up on both Broadcom customer-filed and OSV-filed bugs. Leadership Support: Disseminate key meeting materials and highlight significant information for executive leadership. 3. Organizational Communication and Support Information Dissemination: Propose and implement alternative solutions for efficient information sharing across the organization, such as optimizing meeting minutes and documentation. General Support: Clarify the purpose and goals of meetings, manage internal/external correspondence, and respond to general inquiries efficiently. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Business Administration, or a related technical field. Minimum of 5 years of experience in Program Management, Project Management, or Technical Lead roles within a high-tech, driver-oriented, or software development environment. Proven ability to manage complex software development lifecycles (SDLC) from requirements definition to General Availability (GA) release. Demonstrated track record of proactively identifying and unblocking critical path dependencies. Exceptional cross-functional collaboration and communication skills, with demonstrated success managing stakeholders across Engineering, Marketing, and QA/Test teams. Experience in managing external technical partners (e.g., OSVs or similar ecosystem partners) is highly desirable. Strong organizational skills, meticulous attention to detail, and a proactive approach to driving results and resolving bottlenecks. Preferred Qualifications Experience within the connectivity, networking, or storage technology sectors (e.g., Fibre Channel, Ethernet). Experience managing technical relationships with Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) and Operating System Vendors (OSVs) (e.g., Dell/HPe) to ensure successful product qualification and release. Familiarity with firmware and driver development. Experience managing programs and driving initiatives with globally distributed teams (e.g., US, India). Additional Job Description: Compensation and Benefits The annual base salary range for this position is $91,000 - $146,000 This position is also eligible for a discretionary annual bonus in accordance with relevant plan documents, and equity in accordance with equity plan documents and equity award agreements.
