SUMMARY

Reporting to the Operations Supervisor, the Shipping Receiving Clerk is responsible for efficiently and accurately coordinating the shipment of customer orders and preparing receiving documentation.

EXPECTED CONTRIBUTIONS

  • Build outbound truck loads, ensuring appropriate freight allocation to maximize freight utilization and balance load weights.
  • Complete all necessary paperwork on inbound products.
  • Cross-check all confirmed shipping sets for accuracy, prepare shipping documents for processing.
  • Physical verification of outgoing customer orders on pre-loaded trucks, prior to departure.
  • Adhere to customer service commitments.
  • Prepare loading documents to be given to the truck drivers.
  • Prepare orders to be shipped by courier and complete the appropriate bill.
  • Manage inbound appointments, prepare and complete necessary paperwork, and update the appointment schedule for incoming loads.
  • Ensure receiving documentation policies are adhered to.
  • Complete receiving documents to be given to the administration department.
  • Prepare the labels to be installed on the material stocked in our warehouse.
  • General communication with the Inside Sales Representatives and Traders for customer picks up issues, sales order variances, and returns for credit.

Requirements

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

  • Minimum two years’ related experience
  • Knowledge of load diagrams for trucks and rail to maximize freight utilization and balance load weights
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Aptitude for details and solid math skills
  • Working experience with invoices, pick slips, and manifests
  • Professional telephone skills required with emphasis on customer service
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite, particularly Microsoft Excel
  • Able to communicate effectively with internal staff and work in a team-focused environment
  • Must have own steel-toed boots
  • Forklift training and the ability to operate large forklifts is an asset

EDUCATION

  • High school graduation is a minimum requirement
  • Post-secondary education is desirable
