School Nurse, Anticipated

The Craftsbury Town School District is seeking a dynamic, student-centered Registered Nurse (RN) for the 2026-2027 school year and beyond. The position comes with full benefits and a $1000 stipend to offset costs associated with holding a Vermont RN and Vermont Agency of Education license. This RN position is a part of the Teachers' Collective Bargaining Unit and follows their Master Agreement. School Health Professionals provide first aid and health management during the school day, and work with students and families to identify and access community-based health resources.

Applicants who hold an LPN, EMT, or Paramedic license may be considered; however, applicants under any of those licenses are placed in the Collective Bargaining Unit for Support Staff. Compensation consideration will be made using the wages in the Support Master Agreement and will range from $21.76 to $27.97 per hour. The ideal candidates will have the following qualifications: Current, valid Vermont RN license CPR and First Aid certified Several years of clinical experience that includes pediatric and community/family-centered nursing, or interest in pediatrics and willingness to learn. Must work well as part of a nursing team to care for all OSSU students.

Areas of student health care responsibilities include: Assessment First aid Health screening Medication administration Assist in communicable disease control Immunization assessment Attend student meetings as necessary Assessment and care of students with special needs Additional areas of responsibilities include: Compilation of statistical information Maintenance of health and medication records/logs Accident reporting Member of the Wellness and Safety Teams Preparation of required state reports Providing staff and parents with information on school health policies, and other pertinent health resource information Providing interpretation of health information to staff and parents Promoting a healthy school environment.Craftsbury Schools (aka Craftsbury Academy) has been in existence since 1832. The school has seen many changes and renovations over our almost 200-year history, but what has remained the same is our sense of community within the school and town. Craftsbury Schools serves around 200 students in grades PreK-12 on two campuses. Our PreK-2nd graders meet on our campus located at 83 North Craftsbury Road, Craftsbury, VT, and our 3rd-12th graders meet on our campus - sometimes referred to as the Academy campus or Craftsbury Common campus - located about a mile up the road, at 1422 North Craftsbury Road, Craftsbury Common, VT.
