POSITION: Full-Time Facilities Cleaner

Reports to: Facilities Manager

We are a private school in Monkton, MD, seeking a professional, reliable, proactive, and physically capable Facilities Cleaner to join our team. This role includes maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming school environment and supporting event setup and takedown. The ideal candidate is active, comfortable moving throughout the day, and capable of performing detailed cleaning, and other physically demanding tasks.

Responsibilities:

  • Clean and sanitize all areas of the facility to include: Classrooms/Group Rooms/Music Rooms/Staff Room/Meeting Rooms/Library Areas/Restrooms/Hallways/Stairways/Kitchen/Offices, etc.
  • Vacuum carpets and remove fresh stains.
  • Mop floors.
  • Dust furniture, desks, and shelves.
  • Wash blackboards/dry-erase boards.
  • Keep janitorial storage areas clean and neat.
  • Assist in trash removal/disposal.
  • Assist with event set-up and break down.
  • Move, lift, and arrange furniture, bins, and supplies as needed.
  • Report any necessary repairs or replacements.
  • Requirements:
  • Proven experience as a cleaner – minimum 1 year experience.
  • Ability to work with little supervision and maintain a high level of performance.
  • Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 lbs regularly.
  • Comfortable being on your feet for extended periods and performing continuous physical activity.
  • Able to bend, reach, climb ladders, and perform repetitive motions.
  • Capable of working indoors and outdoors as needed.
  • Customer-oriented and friendly.
  • Prioritization and time management skills.
  • Working quickly without compromising quality.
  • Knowledge of English language – verbal and written.
  • High school degree or equivalent.
  • Must have reliable transportation.

Hours/Schedule:

  • Monday - Friday, from 2:00 p.m. - 10:00 p.m.

Compensation:

  • $16.00 - $18.00, depending on experience.
