[Remote] Surveillance Radar Journeyman Advisor

Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Peraton is a next-generation national security company that drives missions of consequence spanning the globe. They are seeking a talented self-starting Surveillance Radar Advisor with experience in radar systems to support the modernization and sustainment of the National Airspace System and FAA surveillance systems.


Responsibilities

  • Be capable of providing subject matter expertise on radar system integration, operations, and lifecycle sustainment
  • Support FAA surveillance programs with performance analysis, troubleshooting, and modernization planning
  • Observe, capture and report technical data pertinent to the installation and modernization of FAA radar systems
  • Collaborate with FAA stakeholders, contractors, and engineering teams to align with mission objectives
  • Develop and submit concise technical reports and status reports throughout each phase of the project (site survey, pre-install & parts - received at site, installation, and finally, testing and acceptance)
  • Provide immediate notification to higher Peraton authority of significant concerns (Risk, Issues, Opportunity) along with their potential impacts to the schedule
  • Oversees site and vendor technicians, have situational awareness of past and upcoming equipment installation schedules, and ensure compliance with FAA mandates
  • Upon completion of installation and acceptance tests, continue to monitor updated systems and communicate with site technicians and vendors to ensure optimization of all ATC systems through calibrations, alignments, and additional testing required. All efforts result in updated radar systems that provide optimal detection capabilities and increased data accuracy

Skills

  • US citizenship with the ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance
  • 2 years with BS/BA; 0 years with MS/MA; 6 years with no degree
  • Must have some technical work experience such as maintenance on any moderately complex system such as radars, radios or networks in order to help with documentation and support
  • Proven strong self-starter traits
  • Capable of implementing the steps to conflict resolution and deconfliction
  • Capable of independent operation under agile conditions with limited oversite and/or managerial control
  • Capable of critical thinking, following processes and procedures
  • Travel 75% (expected travel is 1 month on and 2 weeks remote rotation on average)
  • Solid communication and interpersonal skills
  • Capable of assessing a large amount of pertinent data and producing detailed technical reports at a consumable level under time limitations
  • Provide clear and effective communications to all parties
  • Familiarization of radar operations, ATC systems & operations, and/or Integrated Air and Missile Defense systems
  • Expert use of Microsoft products and business applications
