[Remote] Sr. Staff Consultant - Cloud Automation

Nutanix is a globally recognized company specializing in cloud solutions, and they are seeking a Sr. Staff Consultant to design and implement cloud automation solutions. The role involves architecting scalable Kubernetes infrastructure, guiding clients through technical assessments, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver innovative solutions.


Responsibilities

  • Architect and design scalable, secure, and resilient Kubernetes infrastructure solutions tailored to customer requirements across on-premises, cloud, and hybrid environments
  • Guide customers through technical assessments, architectural reviews, and solution design, ensuring seamless integration with their existing infrastructure
  • Support pre-sales activities by scoping customer needs, defining technical approaches, and developing level of effort (LOE) estimates for proposed solutions
  • Lead deployment and lifecycle management of Kubernetes clusters, including workload placement, storage integration, and networking configurations
  • Implement GitOps and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) practices to automate provisioning and cluster management using tools like Terraform and Ansible
  • Develop documentation, operational runbooks, and reference architectures to support customer enablement and long-term maintainability
  • Contribute to practice development by creating and enhancing reusable delivery kits, implementation templates, and internal training content
  • Stay current on cloud-native technologies and recommend enhancements to improve efficiency, security, and scalability
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams—including Professional Services, Practice Development, Product Management, and Engineering—to deliver high-impact solutions and drive innovation

Skills

  • 10+ years of experience in DevOps, systems administration, or infrastructure engineering roles
  • Extensive hands-on expertise with Kubernetes, including design, deployment, scaling, and troubleshooting in production environments
  • Demonstrated experience architecting end-to-end container-based solutions, including high availability, resilience, and security
  • Proficiency with hybrid and multi-cloud Kubernetes deployments (e.g., on-premises, AWS, Azure, GCP)
  • Strong scripting and automation skills using PowerShell, Bash, and Python
  • Deep understanding of CI/CD pipeline tools and workflows, especially as they relate to Kubernetes environments
  • Practical experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform and Ansible
  • Solid grasp of networking, firewalls, service meshes, ingress controllers, and container security best practices
  • Proficiency in both Windows and Linux operating systems
  • Proven ability to translate business requirements into scalable, secure, and supportable technical solutions
  • Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA) strongly preferred
  • Experience with Nutanix Kubernetes Platform (NKP) or similar enterprise Kubernetes distributions (OpenShift, Rancher, etc.) is a strong plus
  • Architectural design expertise with one or more of the following certifications: TOGAF, VCDX, CCIE, or NPX
