[Remote] Senior Account Manager- National & Special Accounts

Responsibilities

  • Revenue Growth: Drive revenue growth through thoughtful upsells and retention strategies, focusing on financial gains at renewal
  • Portfolio Management: Proactively manage a portfolio of large, high-value, complex national accounts, and provide senior level account leadership coverage enabling team capacity balancing and for a rotating set of accounts
  • Renewal Strategy: Design renewal strategies and rate recommendations based on financial analysis, aiming for solutions that benefit all parties
  • Pipeline Oversight: Forecast revenue growth opportunities over a 3–5-year period, identifying and capitalizing on potential avenues for success
  • Analytical Skills: Lead deal tactics using comprehensive market knowledge, collaborating with cross-functional peers to drive results
  • Partnership Building: Foster impactful partnerships with clients and brokers, enhancing outcomes through effective communication and collaboration
  • Customer Advocacy: Serve as the primary point of contact, ensuring exceptional customer experiences by resolving concerns and facilitating solutions
  • Team Leadership: Serve as a mentor and/or peer coach and lead cross functional teams on select projects and workstreams

Skills

  • At least 4 years of experience in employee benefits (broker, health insurance) with a bachelor's degree. Experience in lieu of degree will be considered
  • Experience working with large and national accounts of at least 3,000 lives highly preferred
  • Sophisticated business math and complex analytical skills with the ability to position financial outcomes that contribute to revenue goals across assigned portfolio
  • Excellent consultative selling and negotiation skills with the ability to influence decision makers associated with high-value, complex customers
  • Strong time management skills and experience with simultaneously managing overlapping projects under tight deadlines
  • Ability to meet specific deliverables within an environment of tight deadlines and considerable pressure
  • Capable of frequently working independently, demonstrated resourcefulness and requiring little guidance
  • Outstanding communication skills, both written and verbal with special emphasis in formal business presentations
  • Ability to effectively communicate with others, of all levels in the organization, in a collaborative environment
  • Advanced problem-solving skills with ability to work cross-functionally to resolve complex issues and generate results
  • Outstanding attention to detail and strong organizational skills
  • 30% travel across the United States and including overnight. Ability to travel by car and air. Use of personal car and ability to sustain expenses until reimbursed
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams) and CRM (Salesforce)
  • Must have a valid driver's license and the ability to successfully complete a motor vehicle record check. Generous car allowance is provided. Maintaining a $250,000/$500,000 collision damage liability insurance policy for the vehicle which they will receive the company allowance is required
  • State life and health producer license required within 90 days of hire
