Job Summary: The Big Data Analyst will play a critical role in enabling Southwest Airlines to deliver its purpose of connecting people to what's important in their lives through friendly, reliable, and low-arenaflex air travel. This role will work closely with Data Science, Machine Learning, and Artificial Intelligence teams to deploy models, implement and maintain model accuracy, and monitor data drift. The successful candidate will serve as an intermediate-level internal consultant, responsible for driving the end-to-end lifecycle of data management on various systems, volumes, variety, and speed of data. Responsibilities: • Drive complex self-service data integration projects that bring together data from disparate sources to make it available to business clients, including data scientists, analysts, and analytic users • Drive informal teams to use advanced data integration methodologies and tools to large data sets to create solutions that can be applied in descriptive, diagnostic, predictive, and prescriptive analytics • Drive interaction with functional leaders across multiple and concurrent projects • Drive components and communication of solutions and options • Serve as a subject matter expert for data assets and monitor the ongoing effectiveness of data assets in use by business clients in self-service environments • Support the ongoing development of the Southwest Airlines data technology center and community • May perform other job duties as directed by Employee's Leaders Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: • Intermediate knowledge of inductive and deductive reasoning and problem-solving approaches • Intermediate knowledge in evaluating and applying appropriate data analytics and statistical methods for a business problem • Intermediate knowledge of obtaining and ingesting data in both relational and non-SQL databases • Intermediate knowledge in integrating, storing, and processing large quantities of data essential for analysis and modeling • Skilled in one or more data programming languages and open-source tools • Skilled in one or more data integration and business intelligence tools • Skilled in technology systems and architectures relevant to developing and maintaining self-service data assets • Skilled in critical thinking and project management skills • Ability to communicate in an engaging manner with strong verbal and written communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences • Ability to adapt well to a variety of situations and change approaches/techniques if necessary to effectively and efficiently meet objectives Education and Experience: • Required: Bachelor's degree in mathematics, Computer or Data Science, Information Technology, or comparable fields of study; or equally improved degree experience • Advanced degree experience, pro and specialized knowledge in data analysis, advanced analytics, data science, machine learning, artificial intelligence, or optimization project experience • Preferred: Experience with AWS – Sage Maker, Model Monitor, Redshift, Dynamodb, Aurora • Preferred: Experience with Python, SQL, Alteryx, Tableau, Teradata, Oracle, Postgress Database, NOSQL, Linux, Gitlab, Cloudwatch, Quicksight Benefits: • Fly for free, as a privilege, on any open seat on all Southwest flights (your eligible dependents too) • Up to a 9.3% 401(k) Company match, dollar for dollar, of your eligible pay, per paycheck • Potential for annual ProfitSharing contribution towards retirement – when Southwest profits, you profit Ready to Apply?
