Job description

QA position open in our Enterprise Data Warehouse team.

The primary job responsibility for this role is to execute the overall quality assurance and test processes.

This person is responsible for developing, maintaining, and executing test plans, procedures, cases, and logs. In addition to verifying requirements, providing quality control, and tracking timelines, the tester also plays a key role in problem resolution and change management processes.

Responsibilities:


Understand and document key functional dependencies between the enterprise data warehouse and supported applications


Perform test planning; define and implement the execution strategy, including adherence to key milestones. This applies to product development and enhancements and also includes migration testing and regression testing for product patches and bug fixes


Develop test plans, conditions, and scenarios in support of ongoing business system operations, enhancements, and development


SSRS Report testing, Cube testing


Utilize tools for test development, test automation, stress testing, and performance testing


Define and maintain a repository of test plans,cases, and scripts


Document performance and stress testing requirements


Manage processes for defect tracking and root cause analysis; analyze, define, and document issues and defects discovered during testing


Track and report on defects and resolution as requested


Update test plans based on changes arising from design, delivery, and/or change control


Report quality metrics, and develop the standards and procedures for achieving these measurements



Desired Skills and Experience:


Minimum of 5 years experience in software quality assurance / testing


Must have experience with SSRS report testing, report QA


Experience with SQL, T-SQL and database platforms


Must have MS SQL Server experience; writing intermediate level SQL queries


Experience with Data Warehouse, ETL technologies, Reporting and OLAP systems


Website Front end & Backend testing


Functional & UI test case development


Experience with software testing tools, including test case management, defect tracking, automation


Strong experience with Microsoft Windows environments and Office tools


Familiarity with Windows development environments


Strong independent problem solving and troubleshooting skills are a must


Strong analytical, diagnostic, and conceptual skills


Good written and verbal communication skills


Ability to manage multiple assignments to meet business and technical requirements


Ability to work within a diverse, matrix managed team and environment


A strong team player
