core responsibilities As a Principal Engineer of Global Networks and Infrastructure, you will provide technical leadership for our core set of strategic engineering pillars. In partnership with other senior leaders, you will work to establish and govern the practical and philosophical engineering best practices for all Engineers. You will provide overall technology guidance & mentorship and serve as a subject matter expert for primary business and technology stakeholders.
Create and document the philosophies and best practices for global networks, devices, compute, and core infrastructure services. Continuously position the engineering team to use modern infrastructure platform technologies methods and tools Partner with Principal Engineers and Architects, Technology Directors and Divisional Executives to define and describe our future state engineering vision and maturity roadmap Lead a Community of Practice and associated education efforts for the infrastructure engineering pillar Research and summarize industry trends and practices; present recommendations based on findings when relevant Ensure relevant engineering standards are created and maintained to support the maturity and reliability of our business systems. Actively promote adoption of policies, standards, guidelines for infrastructure engineering and delivery.
Work with key stakeholders to establish roadmap of initiatives to streamline and reduce complexity of current infrastructure and to advance infrastructure capabilities to meet future state needs. Lead cross-functional intake: assess, triage and guide infrastructure and cross-functional teams on architectural options and decisions Design the organization's enterprise infrastructure framework. Develop reference architecture that others will follow to create and improve infrastructure systems.
Create and maintain technical capability maps for each area of the infrastructure and map them to business capabilities Provide architecture and engineering delivery guidance and support for infrastructure solutions, ensuring quality and fit to reliability, scalability, resilience, security and cost. Act as solution design lead for large, complex or mission critical projects and initiatives that require cross-team collaboration spanning an entire Director+ level organization Take ownership of infrastructure designs that span multiple people's work, breaking work into smaller tasks for Architects and Engineers. Ensure architecture & engineering artifacts and diagrams are documented with quality and simplicity, easily conveying everything needed to build and operate these designs.
Undertake impact analysis and design modifications to existing infrastructure to support new solutions & conduct proof of concept activities with key business users in support of use cases. Collaborate with engineers across technology teams to interpret architectural designs and support engineering development of critical business applications and tools necessary to fully operationalize these systems (e.g. Observability platforms) Research new technologies to determine which ones should be incorporated into the organization's infrastructure architectures by understanding technology product and vendor strategies and roadmaps & contributing to decisions in the selection of new technology qualifications Completed Bachelor's degree or diploma (or equivalent experience) in Computer Science, Software Engineering or Software Architecture preferred; candidates with substantial and relevant industry experience are also eligible 12 - 15 years of engineering experience, preferably in a global, Fortune 500 enterprise, business Experience developing solutions for retail or eCommerce businesses and other relevant domains such as manufacturing & logistics, supply chain, or corporate shared services Experience with enterprise engineering/architecture practices Ability to author, evangelize, and educate on engineering best practices Experience with the enterprise technology procurement process Minimum 10 years' experience developing, deploying, scaling and maintaining infrastructure systems
Deep hands-on experience using multi-cloud and on-premise networks, device and application management, directory and authentications services, and security. Able to design infrastructure for specific security threat models; able to describe basic and advanced security and compliance aspects of cloud platform primitives. Experience building, architecting, designing, and implementing highly distributed multi-region cloud-based systems Ability to learn, understand, and work quickly with new emerging technologies, methodologies, and solutions in the Cloud/IT technology space Knowledge of large-scale computing solutions and ability to design distributed systems must haves Acknowledge the presence of choice in every moment and take personal responsibility for your life.

compensation and benefits package lululemon's compensation offerings are grounded in a pay-for-performance philosophy that recognizes exceptional individual and teamperformance. Thetypical hiring range for this position is from$181,800 - $238,700 annually; the base pay offered is based on market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and internal equity. As part of our total rewards offering, permanent employees in this position may be eligible for our competitive annual bonus program and equity offerings, subject to program eligibility requirements.
