Starting rate: $100.00 per hour

About the Role

Nexus Therapy is seeking a compassionate and skilled Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to support children with autism and communication delays through virtual services.

In this role, you will conduct virtual assessments, provide speech-language therapy, and supervise therapy programs implemented by Communicative Disorders Assistants (CDAs) working with children in their homes. You will collaborate with families and a multidisciplinary team to create individualized, evidence-based treatment plans that support each child’s communication development.

Key ResponsibilitiesAssessment & Treatment Planning

  • Conduct virtual speech-language assessments for children with autism and other communication disorders
  • Develop individualized therapy plans based on assessment findings
  • Establish measurable communication goals and monitor progress

Therapy Services

  • Provide virtual speech-language therapy sessions when appropriate
  • Adapt therapy activities for telepractice and home-based implementation
  • Use evidence-based approaches to support language, social communication, and speech development

CDA Supervision

  • Provide clinical supervision and guidance to Communicative Disorders Assistants (CDAs) delivering in-home therapy
  • Review therapy plans, session data, and progress notes ($15.00 per visit)
  • Provide coaching, feedback, and training to ensure high-quality service delivery

Family & Team Collaboration

  • Provide parent coaching and strategies to support communication development at home
  • Collaborate with other professionals involved in the child’s care (e.g., ABA therapists, occupational therapists)
  • Participate in team meetings and case discussions as needed

Documentation & Reporting

  • Maintain accurate clinical documentation, progress reports, and assessment reports
  • Ensure services align with relevant funding requirements (e.g., autism programs)
  • Track client progress and adjust treatment plans accordingly

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology
  • Registration in good standing with the College of Audiologists and Speech-Language Pathologists of Ontario (CASLPO) (or eligible)
  • Experience working with children with autism spectrum disorder preferred
  • Experience supervising Communicative Disorders Assistants is an asset
  • Strong skills in telepractice and caregiver coaching
  • Excellent communication, organization, and collaboration skills
  • Reliable internet connection and ability to provide virtual therapy
