Part-Time Remote Bookkeeper Straightforward Bookkeeping About the Role Straightforward Bookkeeping is seeking a dependable, detail-oriented Part-Time Bookkeeper to support our growing virtual bookkeeping firm. This position is remote; however, you will initially work directly with me during onboarding to ensure alignment with our systems, quality standards, and client workflows. This role is ideal for an experienced bookkeeper who values accuracy, accountability, and client service. Key Responsibilities • Record and categorize transactions in QuickBooks Online and Xero • Reconcile bank and credit card accounts • Maintain clean, organized, and audit-ready financial records • Review transactions for accuracy and proper coding • Support month-end close and financial reporting • Identify discrepancies and communicate issues clearly • Work with businesses and nonprofit organizations • Follow firm workflows and documentation standards • Collaborate with the owner on client accounts Qualifications • Minimum of 2 years of bookkeeping experience • Proficiency in QuickBooks Online and Xero • Experience working with nonprofit organizations • Strong understanding of Profit & Loss and Balance Sheet reporting • High attention to detail and strong organizational skills • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines • Professional written and verbal communication Hours & Schedule • Starting at approximately 4 hours per week • Hours are expected to increase as the firm grows • Flexible, remote schedule Interview & Verification Process • Applicants will be required to complete a Practical Bookkeeping Competency Test • Certifications must be provided (QuickBooks, Xero, or other relevant bookkeeping credentials) Why Work With Straightforward Bookkeeping We are a growing, values-driven bookkeeping firm focused on accuracy, clarity, and long-term client relationships.
