Part time evenings/weekends Cleaning Janitorial position

Schedule :
This is a part-time position.
Hours will vary from week to week, Monday through Sunday, based on an approximate schedule of 4:00 - 11:00 PM - maximum 29 hours per week. Weekends may include daytime hours.
Weekly hours will be based on a 29 hour per week schedule.

PRIMARY FUNCTION:


~ The Janitorial Floater will assist in the maintenance of all types of floors including: VCT, stone, quarry, other hard surfaces and various types of carpet cleaning. This role will also be responsible for cleaning contracted buildings and office spaces as assigned, or during down time of shift (i.e., when waiting for floors to dry). The ideal candidate must be friendly, a self-starter, organized, able to drive, understands commercial cleaning services, including floors and carpets, and able to take direction well. The Janitorial Floater will start and end their day from the Hackensack office and will drive to various sites in a company vehicle.

Essential Functions Include:
Must be willing to learn to operate and maintain all floor cleaning/finishing equipment, including but not limited to floor buffer/burnishes, water extraction machine, carpet cleaning equipment, etc.
Must be able to pick up and carry up to 25lbs of equipment/supplies, etc.
Assist with maintenance of equipment (before and after use) is necessary.
Must be punctual and able to stay longer if the job is not complete.
Flexibility working with other crews when needed.
Must wear company approved attire and always have employee ID on.
Cleans and maintains cleanliness of buildings, including but not limited to offices, classrooms, kitchens, bathrooms, breakrooms, common areas, lobby floors, windows, doors, walls, sinks, counters, commodes, fixtures, elevators and/or stairwells.
Monitor the interior and exterior of the building and grounds to make certain the grounds and common areas are free of debris.
Empty garbage containers in assigned buildings and ensuring general areas are free of litter.

  • The Janitorial Floater will use an agency vehicle to drive to and from individual work sites and will return the vehicle to the Hackensack office after every use.
  • May perform other duties as assigned and within the general scope of the Janitorial Floater responsibilities.

Requirements:
Minimum 1-year previous maintenance / janitorial experience
Floor and carpet cleaning experience preferred
Ability to handle multiple projects at one time and stay conscious of time restrictions.
Must have a valid driver's license and transportation to get to and from work.
