The actual salary offer will carefully consider a wide range of factors, including your skills, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, training, and internal equity. Pay Range is the entire compensation range for the position. Pima County’s Conservation Lands & Resources Department is seeking a highly motivated and hard-working individual to fill a position as Park Technician I. This position will work within the Parks and Trails Division of Conservation Lands & Resources supporting Pima County’s commitment to conservation. This role will be part of a team that delivers maintenance, construction, campground operations, and restoration projects within Tucson Mountain Park. The Park Technician I is field-oriented, often in remote areas, with exposure to extreme summer temperatures and cold winter temperatures and requires the candidate to be in excellent physical condition. This is primarily a manual labor position requiring the ability to lift heavy loads; safely operate assigned vehicles and other powered equipment; work in extremes of heat, humidity, dust, and cold; safely wear required safety clothing and equipment; and ascend and descend ladders and stairs to reach and work upon elevated or below-grade work platforms and job sites. On assigned projects, the extended use of hand tools such as shovels, pickaxes, digging bars, and rakes is required. Invasive species work requires the candidate to mechanically remove or apply chemicals to combat invasive species, and work where venomous animals may be encountered. Essential Functions: As defined under the Americans with Disabilities Act, this classification may include any of the following tasks, knowledge, skills, and other characteristics. Minimum Qualifications: Six months of experience performing duties in landscape, grounds maintenance, arborist, equipment operator, general handyman or similar duties in a specific skill, craft, vocation, trade or operational area of employment. (Relevant experience and/or education from an accredited college or university may be substituted.) OR: Three months of experience within Pima County as a Parks Helper or other helper level position. Qualifying education and experience must be clearly documented in the "Education" and "Work Experience" sections of the application. Selection Procedure: Pima County Human Resources Department reserves the right to admit to the selection process only those candidates that meet the minimum qualifications.
