CDL Local Delivery Driver – Medical Equipment & Liquid Oxygen

Rotech Healthcare Inc. is seeking a reliable and safety‑focused CDL Driver to join our Transfill Division. Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Safely transport liquid oxygen, medical equipment, and supplies to Rotech locations within your region.
  • Load, secure, and deliver cargo in compliance with DOT, FDA, and company safety standards.
  • Maintain accurate delivery documentation and ensure timely order fulfillment.
  • Keep your truck and trailer clean, organized, and in safe working condition.
  • Participate in hazardous material handling and vendor certification training.
  • Identify and report equipment or vehicle safety concerns.
  • Support quality improvement initiatives and uphold JCAHO standards.
  • Provide coverage for other drivers during PTO as needed.

Qualifications

Employment is contingent on

  • Background check (company‑wide). Results will not be used automatically to disqualify individuals. Instead, the Company will conduct an individualized assessment that considers the duties of the position, the nature and timing of the offense, and any evidence of rehabilitation, in accordance with applicable laws.
  • Drug screen (when applicable for the position)
  • Compliance with healthcare facility credentialing process (when applicable for the position)
  • Valid driver's license in state of residence with a clean driving record (when applicable for the position)

Required Education and/or Experience

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent, required
  • Possession of a valid CDL with a clean driving record in your state of residence
  • Must meet DOT qualifications for commercial driving
  • Valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with a clean record (required)

Preferred Education and/or Experience

  • Three years of professional driving experience (preferred)
  • Hazmat endorsement preferred – if not currently held, must be willing to obtain after hire

Skills & Abilities

  • Strong communication skills in English (verbal and written)
  • Ability to interpret instructions and communicate effectively with team members, vendors, and patients
  • Basic mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn about medical equipment
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion
  • Organized, self‑motivated, and capable of managing time and tasks independently
  • Comfortable performing basic math calculations

Physical Demands

  • Ability to lift and move up to 100 lbs regularly
  • Must be able to sit, stand, walk, talk, and listen throughout the workday
  • Requires close vision for reading paperwork and digital screens
  • Must be able to load, unload, push, pull, and transport equipment
  • Will spend the majority of the workday driving a company vehicle

Technical Proficiency

  • Familiarity with email and internet navigation
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook)
  • Ability to operate office equipment (fax, copier, printer, phone, tablet)
  • Experience operating vehicles 26,001 GVW and above
  • Comfortable using machinery for loading/unloading
  • Understanding of home medical equipment and supplies (preferred)
