Pay: $43.00 – $50.00/hour

Work Type: Onsite - Lethbridge, AB T1H 6P3

Duration: 12-month contract

Job Overview:

  • We are seeking a Journeyman Millwright (Canada Red Seal certified) to support maintenance operations at a seed processing facility in Lethbridge.
  • This role focuses on preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of plant equipment to minimize downtime and support safe, efficient operations.
  • The Millwright reports to the Maintenance Supervisor and plays a key role in maintaining equipment across seed cleaning, treating, packaging, shipping, receiving, and warehouse operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform preventive maintenance and repair of plant machinery and equipment.
  • Troubleshoot and repair equipment to minimize downtime.
  • Complete maintenance work orders within established timelines.
  • Support KPI goals related to equipment reliability and uptime.
  • Maintain parts inventory readiness and documentation.
  • Assist with mechanical installations and facility maintenance projects.
  • Work safely while supporting a cost-effective and quality maintenance program.
  • Continuously learn and apply reliability and maintenance best practices.

Required Qualifications:

  • Journeyman Millwright certification (Canada Red Seal).
  • Minimum 3 years of maintenance experience in a seed processing facility or industrial environment.
  • Ability to read and carry out instructions in English (written and verbal)
  • Experience using SAP work orders or similar maintenance systems.
  • Ability to troubleshoot equipment in a fast-paced production environment.
  • Must provide own basic tools.

Technical Skills & Knowledge:

  • Mechanical systems including rotating and conveying equipment.
  • Seed cleaning, packaging, and material handling equipment.
  • PLC systems, HMI interfaces, VFDs, and power distribution systems.
  • Equipment such as compressors, legs, drags, and dust collection systems.
  • Welding and fabrication skills.
  • Working knowledge of maintenance safety procedures.

Required Certifications & Training:

  • Confined Space certification
  • Working at Heights certification
  • Arc Flash safety training
  • Valid Class 5 driver's license
  • First Aid certification

Software Knowledge:

  • Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word, Access, PowerPoint
  • SAP or similar maintenance management systems.
  • RS Logix experience considered an asset.

Work Environment:

  • Industrial processing facility environment.
  • Fast-paced, hands-on maintenance work.
  • Work may include heights, confined spaces, and outdoor exposure.
