About the role

As our Lead Product Manager for Order Management, you'll play a key role in shaping the future of how our customers place and receive their orders, across every channel we operate.

As the Lead Product Manager for Booker's Order Management platform, you'll own the vision, strategy and roadmap for a system that supports around 60,000 customer deliveries each week across multiple channels and levels of complexity.

You'll lead the development and implementation of a modern, scalable and customer-centric solution that gives customers greater flexibility and visibility when placing orders, while equipping our teams with tools that simplify processes and enhance operational performance.

You'll work closely with technical teams, suppliers and business stakeholders, championing an experience that feels seamless, efficient and tailored to the needs of our diverse customer base.
You will be responsible for

  • Own the end-to-end strategy, roadmap and delivery of Booker's order management solution, ensuring it integrates effectively with order capture and execution systems.
  • Lead cross-domain planning, setting up lightweight alignment processes that help teams make decisions and manage dependencies efficiently.
  • Work with engineering partners and external suppliers to coordinate delivery, maintain quality standards and resolve blockers quickly.
  • Champion an ordering journey that is simple, intuitive and reliable, from order placement through to delivery.
  • Identify opportunities to enhance features and functionality, improving the experience for customers and colleagues.
  • Act as the central point of contact for all order management initiatives, ensuring alignment with wider Booker priorities.
  • Translate product requirements into clear, actionable deliverables and work closely with internal teams and the chosen software provider to bring solutions to life.
  • Collaborate with other technology leads to shape the future capabilities of the platform.
  • Mentor and guide a small product team, helping them develop their product management skills.

You will need

  • Proven experience in product management, ideally within order management or a retail/wholesale environment.
  • Strong leadership skills and experience working with cross-functional teams and third-party partners.
  • A customer-first mindset with a passion for simplifying complex processes and creating intuitive digital experiences.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder-engagement skills.
  • The ability to balance strategic thinking with hands-on delivery.
  • Strong prioritisation skills and experience managing dependencies.
  • A solid understanding of agile delivery methods.
  • Clear, confident communication skills, able to explain technical concepts to a wide audience.
  • A genuine drive to deliver meaningful outcomes for our customers and colleagues.
