The Lead, Content Marketing - NBS is responsible for producing, analyzing, and optimizing custom content in relation to brand and inbound marketing efforts for NBS and its associated brands to scale in their respective markets. This position creates product-aligned messaging and editorial marketing strategies for a specific set of NBS products and services through a variety of marketing channels. The Lead will work on Nelnet Campus Commerce and aligns with Product Marketing, RevOps, and Creative teams on key strategies, public relations opportunities, developing relationships with internal leaders and stakeholders and collaborates across teams to drive growth in the higher education market.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Develop engaging strategies & content to attract and retain customers with a focus on achieving team goals.
  • Undertake content marketing initiatives to achieve business targets.
  • Partner with internal stakeholders to execute the go-to-market process, including communication and project execution.
  • Collaborate internally to produce high quality marketing content and provide thought leadership.
  • Develop and manage editorial calendar, execute on calendar production and work with internal stakeholders to ensure deadlines are met.
  • Deliver engaging content on a regular basis and inspire content innovation.
  • Edit, proofread, and improve content with attention to SEO, voice, and tone.
  • Analyze web traffic and engagement metrics to refine and optimize editorial strategy, in collaboration with key stakeholders.
  • Engage as a subject matter expert on audience sentiment and content performance for assigned focus area.
  • Work closely with RevOps and Creative Teams to ensure consistency across digital touchpoints.
  • Manage brand positioning and brand assets.
  • Present to internal stakeholders regarding brand products or industry trends, as needed.
  • Engage in public relations opportunities within the higher education market to increase share of voice.
  • Create and curate social media content and calendars to increase engagement across social media channels and social selling.
EDUCATION:
Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent (Communications, Marketing, Advertising, Journalism, or Business preferred).
EXPERIENCE:
  • Minimum of 3+ years B2B marketing experience or equivalent (higher education content writing preferred).
  • Experience in a creative marketing position, preferably with a writing background.
  • Experience leveraging a marketing tech stack, e.g., HubSpot, Google Ads, Google Analytics, Wordpress, or the equivalent preferred.
  • Experience in higher education industry in writing, social media or marketing experience, fundraising/donor management, or public relations.

  • Initiative to stay up-to-date on AI, new technologies, and marketing trends.
  • Ability to write digital and collateral content across the B2B funnel using SEO and persona targeting best practices.

  • Ability to identify target audiences within market segments and craft unique strategies to reach those targets.

Salary range for this role is: $75,000-$79,000
