Full Stack engineers at Yelp have the flexibility to work on a wide subset of software development. You will have the opportunity to develop highly performant APIs on the backend, as well as create the visual components our users interact with every day. If you enjoy playing an active role in the end-to-end product development lifecycle, this is the role for you.

What You\'ll Do

  • Design and build new features to connect Yelp users with businesses at a large scale.
  • Iterate quickly using Continuous Integration / Continuous Deployment principles.
  • Collaborate with team members and engineers across the company to design reliable systems.
  • Implement beautiful features that are modern and responsive.
  • Deploy projects in a Service-Oriented Architecture, all the way from backend services to fully-featured UIs.
  • Run A/B experiments and dive into the resulting data to look for trends.
  • Collaborate closely with product managers, designers, and other engineering teams.

What It Takes To Succeed

  • Relevant experience in at least one server-side programming language, preferably Python.
  • Relevant experience in at least one front end framework and technology, preferably React.
  • Interest in challenges of scalability, reliability, and performance.
  • Passion for Yelp and its mission to connect people with great local businesses.
  • Keen interest in tackling scalability, reliability, and performance challenges.
  • Understanding of web security and performance best practices.
  • Comfortable working in a Unix Environment.
