IT Jobs for Computer Programmer/Analyst At IITA Ibadan   The International Institute of Tropical Agriculture seeks suitable Nigerian Nationals for the following position at the Institute’s Headquarters, Ibadan.   Company Profile: IITA is an international non-profit research-for-development (R4D) organization created in 1967, governed by a Board of Trustees, and supported primarily by the Consultative Group of International Agricultural Research (CGIAR). Our R4D is anchored on the development needs of sub-Saharan Africa. We develop agricultural solutions with our partners to tackle hunger and poverty by reducing producer and consumer risks, enhancing crop quality and productivity, and generating wealth from agriculture. We have more than 100 internationally recruited scientists from about 35 countries and 900 nationally recruited staff based in various stations across Africa.      Job Title: Computer Programmer/Analyst (2-year renewable contract) Qualification and Experience: B.Sc. in Computer Science or related IT discipline. Minimum of 5 years hands-on experience in robust computer applications programming and system analysis, with emphasis on Business and Management systems. Programming experience on web-based tools: ASP, ASP.NET, ASP.NET.MVC, Java, JavaScript, AJAX, ORACLE application development tools (PL/SQL, Forms, Reports, Toad etc) is important. Experience in relational database systems: ORACLE 11g, SQL Server 2005/2008, etc is desirable. Experience on using modern server operating systems, such as: Microsoft Windows Server 2003/2008, and UNIX (and its variants like Sun Solaris, Linux, etc) would be an advantage.     Duties: Successful candidate will among other things: Analyse, design and deploy/install software packages, applications and databases. Design and implement ad-hoc solutions to meet immediate user needs. Evaluate specific vendor-supplied software and propose changes required to suit the needs of the Institute Implement data structures and databases according to agreed specifications Code and test-run in-house developed applications Deploy fully tested applications in the production environment Document the system and writer user manuals for the end-users Provide training and support to the end-users to enable them work fairly independently on their own.
