Future Opening: Temporary Marine Yard Hand

Job Summary
We are looking for a Yard Hand to assist our Marine Service Center with the Fall Haul of boats from the water into winter storage.

As a Yard Hand, you will be responsible for shrink-wrapping and bottom washing boats; as well as staging boats and equipment.
You must be comfortable with a hammer, knife, ladders & scaffolding.

Yard Hands must be able able to lift 40 lbs. up to a height of 7 feet and spend the majority of a 10 hour shift outdoors in the Fall/Winter Weather.

This is a Temporary, Full-Time Position with optional overtime. The position is expected to last throughout December and rehire is possible for Spring Launch and future seasons.

The right candidate, with mechanical inclinations, could be trained to advance into a year-round technician role.

Responsibilities
  • Build snow support frames on boats, pull shrink wrap over head, tie knots tightly, & use a heat gun to shrink the wrap;
  • Wear a respirator and personal protective equipment to conduct bottom washing of boat hulls;
  • Stage equipment for wrapping, washing, and storing boats; assist technicians with staging boats/supplies for winterizations;
  • Work diligently to ensure safety & a high standard of care for customer boats;
  • Communicate with team members to promote the efficient distribution of responsibilities.
Qualifications
  • Driver's License Required
  • Boater's License Preferred
  • Experience With Boats & Tractors Preferred
  • Strong attention to detail & communications skills are required
  • Must be 18 years of age or older
