Full Time Town Road Crew Position

Overview
The Town Road Crew is seeking dedicated full-time team members to assist with maintaining and improving local roadways and public infrastructure. This role involves physically demanding work, operating various equipment, and collaborating with team members to ensure safe and efficient road maintenance. Ideal candidates are reliable, safety-conscious, and able to work outdoors in varying weather conditions. Prior experience in construction, landscaping, or related fields is a plus but not required. This position offers an opportunity to contribute to community development while gaining valuable skills in public works operations.

Responsibilities

  • Perform roadway repairs including pothole patching, crack sealing, grading and surface leveling
  • Operate equipment such as ten-wheel dump trucks, excavators, loaders, graders, and compactors safely and effectively
  • Assist with installation and maintenance of culverts, signage, guardrails, and drainage systems
  • Clear debris, snow, or other obstructions from roadways during adverse weather conditions
  • Conduct routine inspections of roads and infrastructure to identify repair needs
  • Maintain work areas in a clean and safe condition following all safety protocols
  • Collaborate with team members to complete projects efficiently and on schedule
  • Follow all safety guidelines and wear appropriate protective gear at all times

Qualifications

  • Ability to perform physically demanding tasks in outdoor environments
  • Prior experience with road maintenance, construction, or similar manual labor roles is preferred but not required
  • Strong time management skills to complete tasks efficiently within scheduled shifts
  • Knowledge of safety procedures related to heavy equipment operation and roadway work
  • Ability to operate basic hand tools and machinery safely
  • Good communication skills and ability to work as part of a team
  • Valid CDL Class B driver’s license with medical card.
  • Willingness to work outdoors in various weather conditions including rain, snow, or heat
