Job Overview We are seeking an experienced Staff Data Scientist to work as the tech lead for all data science-related work. As a key member of our Data Ventures team, you will focus on Customer Data Science initiatives, mentor junior colleagues, and implement best practices across the team. This role offers a unique opportunity to work on dynamic projects, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and drive business growth through data-driven insights. Key Responsibilities Data Source Identification: Understand the concerned order of requirements and service level agreements, define and identify the most appropriate resources for required data, and perform initial data quality tests on the extracted data. Problem Formulation: Analyze business problems, identify and recommend methods to solve them, set data analytics goals and deliverables, and quantify business impact. Analytical Modeling: Select suitable modeling strategies for complex problems, develop variables and functions iteratively, conduct exploratory data analysis activities, and create continuous, online models. Model Deployment & Scaling: Work with MLOps to push ML models to production, continuously log and track model behavior, and identify model parameters that may need adjustments depending on the scale of deployment. Code Development & Testing: Write code to develop the specified solution and application features, create test cases to study and validate the proposed solution design, and contribute to code documentation and playbooks. Applied Business Acumen: Evaluate proposed business cases for projects and initiatives, influence business stakeholder decision-making, and translate business requirements into strategies and initiatives. Model Assessment & Validation: Identify and review model assessment metrics, apply appropriate techniques for model testing and tuning, and ensure testing data is documented and maintained by the team. Data Visualization and Storyteller: Identify and recommend the most appropriate visualization tools, generate suitable graphical representations of data and model outcomes, and build compelling stories to integrate multiple pieces of data into cohesive insights. Essential Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Statistics, Economics, Analytics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. At least 4 years of experience in an analytics-related field. Deep knowledge and understanding of machine learning, statistics, and data science. Strong programming skills in at least one of Python/R. Ability to execute projects end-to-end, including junior colleagues. Implement best practices in ML Ops, coding standards, etc. Clearly communicate with business, product, and application partners. Ability to translate complex algorithm evaluations into simple language. Preferred Qualifications Advanced degree in a related field. Experience working with large-scale data sets and complex data systems. Knowledge of cloud-based technologies and data platforms. Experience with agile development methodologies and version control systems. Strong understanding of business operations and market trends.
