Elementary Behavioral Support Paraeducator

Strafford R-VI Schools is seeking a caring, patient, and dependable Elementary Behavioral Support Paraeducator to support students in our elementary behavior classroom during the 2026-2027 school year. This position works closely with the classroom teacher to help students grow academically, socially, and emotionally in a safe and structured environment.

The paraeducator will build positive relationships with students, support behavior expectations, and help students develop the skills they need to be successful each day.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support students with social-emotional and behavioral needs throughout the school day
  • Help create a calm, structured, and positive classroom environment
  • Build strong, trusting relationships with students
  • Assist the teacher with behavior plans, routines, and interventions
  • Encourage positive behavior, emotional regulation, and problem-solving skills
  • Collaborate with teachers and staff to provide consistent student support
  • Supervise students during transitions and activities as needed
  • Maintain student confidentiality and professionalism at all times
