eCommerce Operations Specialist (Contract)

As a Website Operations Specialist, you will play a critical role in shaping and delivering the Shutterfly brand experience across our website and mobile app. This is a highly executional, hands-on role focused on building, publishing, and maintaining site content through our Content Management Systems (CMS). You will own day-to-day content execution, ensuring experiences are accurate, timely, scalable, and aligned with merchandising, promotional, and customer experience strategies.

This position reports to the Manager of eCommerce Site Operations and partners closely with eCommerce Site Merchandising, Creative, Marketing, Product, and Engineering teams to translate business priorities into high-quality digital experiences. You’ll balance operational excellence with a strong attention to detail—driving flawless execution at scale while continuously identifying opportunities to improve workflows, performance, and content scalability.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage, publish, and maintain website and mobile app content using Optimizely CMS, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and brand standards across all experiences.
  • Build and optimize landing pages and mobile app screens that support merchandising goals and enhance the customer journey.
  • Execute promotional content—including banners, modules, and placements—across site pages in alignment with campaign, pricing, and merchandising strategies.
  • Maintain and update global and category-level navigation to ensure a seamless, intuitive browsing experience.
  • Support homepage and promotional page updates to reflect active campaigns, offers, and seasonal initiatives.
  • Participate in quality assurance (QA) for site and app content, validating functionality, accuracy, and visual integrity prior to launch.
  • Partner closely with the Site Operations team and cross-functional stakeholders—including Marketing, Pricing & Promotions, Creative, and eCommerce—to align on requirements, timelines, and execution plans.

  • At least 3 years experience in online merchandising or managing eCommerce websites
  • Experience with large-scale content management systems (CMS).
  • Detail-oriented as your work is highly visible
  • Ability to work as a team as well as independently.
  • Possess an affinity for the customer and a desire to provide the best customer experience.

It is helpful, but not required to have:
  • Technical ability to develop and troubleshoot HTML and CSS code
  • Experience with Optimizely CMS

The compensation package for this role is based on multiple factors, such as job level, responsibilities, location, and candidate experience. The budget for this role is $35-40/hour.

This is a contract role through the end of 2026.
