We currently have an full time opportunity for an Delivery Manager – Personalization and Marketing to join the Advanced Analytics team. This role is based out of our office in Richmond Street, Toronto.

We are a multidisciplinary group of data scientists, engineers, product managers, and analysts who design, develop, and deliver high-impact, scalable AI/ML solutions that are transforming how Sobeys and its family of banners engage customers and operate the business. We leverage cutting-edge cloud technologies and advanced analytical techniques to connect the dots between customer behavior and business operations, revealing the true drivers of customer engagement, sales growth, and profitability. As the Delivery Manager – Personalization and Marketing, you will play a critical leadership role in ensuring the successful delivery of a broad portfolio of advanced analytics initiatives. You will coordinate cross-functional teams, streamline project execution, and act as the linchpin between technical teams and business stakeholders to translate ambitious ideas into tangible results. This role requires a strategic mindset, a passion for driving complex projects to completion, and exceptional communication skills to navigate both technical conversations and executive updates.
What you’ll get to do in this role:
As a Delivery Manager in Personalization and Marketing, you will lead the end-to-end delivery of multiple Advanced Analytics and AI/ML initiatives—overseeing planning, execution, stakeholder alignment, and seamless deployment across projects such as Personalization, Agentic AI Marketing use cases, Marketing Mixture Optimization, Churn, Measurement activities, and etc. You will act as the central coordination hub for Data Science, business teams, Enterprise Data & Technology, and external partners, ensuring clear communication, strong agile execution, proactive risk and issue management, and timely progress against milestones. You will shape the vision of leadership through technical and project oversight, mentorship, and continuous improvement of delivery processes, enabling the organization to scale analytics capabilities efficiently while maintaining high-quality project outcomes.
- Lead End-to-End Project Delivery: Oversee the requirement gathering, planning, execution, and delivery of multiple advanced analytics and AI/ML projects from inception to deployment and sustainment. Ensure that projects meet business objectives and are delivered on time and within scope. This includes diverse initiatives such as one-to-one personalization program, Agentic AI Use Cases, Retail Media Measurement, Marketing Mix Modeling, Churn, Personalized Pricing, and other key Advanced Analytics programs.
- Cross-Functional Coordination: Serve as the primary liaison between Data Science teams, business units, Enterprise Data & Technology, external partners, and other stakeholders. Facilitate collaboration and clear communication across these groups to align on project goals, requirements, and deliverables.
- Project Management & Agile Leadership: Establish and manage project plans, agile ceremonies (daily stand-ups, sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives), and governance forums (including steering committees and status update meetings). Proactively track timelines, milestones, and dependencies, and adjust plans as needed to keep multiple projects on track.
- Stakeholder Engagement & Communication: Engage with senior business stakeholders and Advanced Analytics leadership to gather requirements, provide regular progress updates, and manage expectations. Prepare and deliver executive-ready project status reports and presentations that highlight achievements, upcoming milestones, risks, and mitigation plans.
- Risk Management & Issue Resolution: Anticipate, identify, and resolve roadblocks and risks that could impede project success. Coordinate cross-team problem-solving efforts to ensure critical issues (for example, data availability constraints or technical challenges in model deployment) are addressed swiftly, leveraging support from functional experts as needed.
- Foster Collaboration in the team: Foster a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement within the Advanced Analytics team. Organize and lead cross-functional knowledge transfer sessions and ensure that project learnings, best practices, and documentation (e.g., project roadmaps, Confluence pages) are captured and shared to enable ongoing success and scalability.
- Process Optimization: Work with Advanced Analytics leads and external partners to streamline delivery processes, implement best practices in project management (such as effective use of tools like JIRA, Planview, or similar), and improve how our team manages backlogs, user story creation, testing timelines, and cross-team collaboration. Your efforts will help the team operate efficiently as it scales and takes on new initiatives in areas like personalization, marketing, and e-commerce analytics.
What you should bring to the team:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, STEM, or any related field; Master’s preferred. Project management certifications like PMP, PRINCE2, or Agile/Scrum Master are desirable.
- 2+ years of experience leading complex technology or data/analytics projects (preferably in advanced analytics, AI/ML, or software development). Proven track record of delivering projects involving cross-functional teams and multiple stakeholders, ideally in a retail or consumer-focused business environment.
- Strong knowledge of Agile methodologies and experience implementing project management best practices. Proficiency with project management and collaboration tools (e.g., JIRA, Azure DevOps, Planview, Confluence, or similar) to manage tasks, timelines, and documentation.
- Excellent leadership and team coordination skills. Able to influence and drive results in a matrix environment, coordinating efforts of data scientists, engineers, analysts, and business stakeholders. Experience in facilitating meetings (daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, steering committees) and ensuring all contributors stay aligned and productive.
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills. Comfortable engaging with both technical and non-technical stakeholders, from software developers to executives. Ability to articulate complex project status, risks, and needs in clear, concise terms. Experience preparing executive-level briefings or reports is a strong asset.
- Demonstrated ability to navigate and resolve project roadblocks—whether technical challenges, resource constraints, or changing business priorities. Proactive and resourceful in finding solutions, with a continuous improvement mindset.
- Familiarity with AI, Machine Learning, data science, marketing and analytics concepts (e.g., measurement of marketing campaigns, data engineering pipelines, cloud data platforms like Databricks and Snowflake, etc.) is highly beneficial. Understanding of retail industry dynamics or marketing technology is a plus, to better contextualize advanced analytics projects and their business impact.
