Data Scientist – AI/ML

Integral Federal is looking to hire a Data Scientist to support the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) Performance Engineering Analytics (PEA) program. The PEA program will support TSA as it continues to look for ways to enhance its layered approach to security through new state-of-the-art technologies, expanded use of existing and proven technologies, improved passenger identification techniques, and other developments that will continue to strengthen anti-terrorism capabilities.
Responsibilities:
  • Provide senior-level Subject Matter Expertise (SME) for the data sciences team, consisting of government personnel and contractor team
  • Make significant contributions and provide support to initiatives, workstreams, and collaboration in these areas:
    • Research, Exploration, and Innovation. Explore emerging data science methods and techniques. Leading and supporting proof-of-concept (POC) projects to evaluate and validate new approaches and capabilities. Uncover anomalies and trends
    • Predictive Analytics, Artificial Intelligence (AI,) and Machine Learning (ML). Build predictive models and advance AI capabilities to enhance mission-critical decisions and improve system effectiveness
    • Model Development, Deployment, and Optimization. Develop and maintain models using AI/ML and statistical techniques. Deploy models into production environment(s) with continuous optimization through adaptive learning and model training
    • Natural Language Processing (NLP). Apply NLP techniques for domain-specific challenges, including global name matching and text analysis, to support real-time operations
  • Collaborate with analytics and engineering teams to translate insights into actionable outcomes and ensure seamless model integration
  • Collaborate with computational linguistics on cultural and linguistic considerations, refinements, and solutions
  • Create and maintain relationships between data sources and data sets to facilitate and maximize analyses
  • Create and present summaries of findings through effective communications and visualizations
Qualifications:
Required:

  • 10+ years of relevant experience
  • 3+ years working in a data scientist role and with AI/ML
  • Python and/or R proficiency
  • Advanced SQL skills and experience working with large datasets
  • Experience with environments and tools listed below
  • On-premises and Cloud database, data science, and data analytics environments
    • IBM Integrated Analytics System, IBM Sailfish (formerly Netezza; hardware-accelerated database appliance), AWS Redshift, or similar products
    • Data science toolkits
  • Notebook environment
    • Apache Zeppelin or similar web-based notebook collaboration environment (e.g., JupyterLabs)
  • Data visualizations and interactive dashboards
    • Microsoft Power BI Server, Tableau, or similar

Preferred:

  • Experience working in a TSA mission or DHS environment
  • Experience working in data science and data analytics environments
  • Experience working in an AWS Cloud environment
  • Experience working in Agile environments
  • Master of Science degree
