The JM Smucker Company is seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Data Analyst to join our Away From Home Sales Operations team. We’re seeking a curious, business-minded Data Analyst to turn Foodservice data into actionable insights that accelerate growth across operators, distributors, brokers, and national accounts. You will build and automate reporting, steward data quality, and partner with Sales, Marketing, Revenue Growth, and Finance to improve decision-making at scale. The ideal candidate blends hands-on analytics, CRM exposure, and practical knowledge of Foodservice datasets and channel dynamics.

This role is responsible for collecting, analyzing, and interpreting data to help drive strategic business decisions, optimize operations, and support growth initiatives within our Away From Home business. The ideal candidate is passionate about data, has an understanding of the foodservice industry, and excels at transforming complex information into actionable insights.

Location: Working Remotely

In this role you will:

  • Collect, clean, and validate data from various sources including sales, distribution, customer feedback, and market trends.
  • Perform analysis and generate reports from disparate systems to support sales requests, customer presentations, and strategic initiatives.
  • Develop dashboards and visualizations to communicate key performance indicators (KPIs) and business metrics to stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Sales, Marketing, Supply Chain, and Finance to identify business opportunities and challenges.
  • Monitor industry trends and competitor performance to inform strategic planning.
  • Support data-driven decision by translating complex data into clear narratives and recommendations for Sales Leaders, RSMs, BDMs, and cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Ensure data integrity and maintain documentation of methodologies and processes.

What we are looking for:

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Business Analytics, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • 2+ years of experience in data analysis in the consumer product goods industry.
  • Proficiency in advanced Microsoft Excel, and data visualization tools (such as Power BI, Tableau, or similar).
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data sets and deliver actionable insights.
  • Strong data hygiene mindset (matching, deduping, referential integrity)
  • Familiarity with syndicated data sources (e.g., Datassential).
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills; able to convert analytics into clear, actionable guidance for non-technical audiences
  • Attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.

Additional skills and experience that we think would make someone successful in this role:

  • Experience in data analysis in Away from Home Segment (Foodservice)
  • Experience with predictive modeling and statistical analysis.
  • Knowledge of the foodservice marketplace and product categories.
  • Experience working with Salesforce data models (Accounts, Opportunities, Activities)
  • Knowledge of operator and distributor ecosystems (Sysco, US Foods, Gordon, regional distributors), GPOs, and broker models or knowledge of B2B Wholesaler model
  • Ability to effectively present insights from analysis to customers
  • Project management experience.
