About the team Roku’s global Content team is responsible for sourcing and executing innovative content licensing and production deals across a range of content types and business models for The Roku Channel (TRC) AVOD and FAST live/linear service and Howdy SVOD service across US and international territories. About the role Roku is looking for a Content Strategy & Insights MBA Intern to help shape the content strategy for The Roku Channel (AVOD, FAST), Howdy (SVOD). In this role, you will use Roku’s first-party data and business intelligence tools to answer high-impact questions about what content works where, why, and how we should invest next. You will work closely with Content Acquisition, Content Partner Management, Originals, Sports, Finance, and Core Analytics teams to own project-based analyses from problem definition through recommendations. Rather than building complex models or writing production code, you will focus on pulling and structuring data from dashboards, analyzing it, and translating your findings into clear stories that inform real content decisions. This is a full-time summer internship designed for an MBA student who is passionate about content, eager to dive deep into data, and excited to influence how millions of people discover and watch TV. For California Only - The estimated hourly rate for this position is between \$32 - \$41 annually. Compensation packages are based on factors unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, certifications, and specific geographical location. Responsibilities

  • Pull and synthesize content performance, audience, and engagement data from Tableau, Looker, and internal dashboards for TRC AVOD, FAST channels, and Howdy in the US and Mexico
  • Analyze viewership, engagement, and monetization trends to identify what types of content, formats, and windowing strategies are working across AVOD, FAST, and SVOD
  • Build clear, executive-ready narratives that translate complex data into simple, persuasive stories and recommendations
  • Partner with Licensed and Original Content teams to scope project-based work, align on hypotheses, and pressure-test your findings
  • Proactively surface new questions and opportunities where data-driven insights can improve slate planning, scheduling, and monetization

Requirements

  • Are currently pursuing an MBA or quantitatively oriented graduate degree with an expected graduation date in 2026 or 2027
  • Prior professional experience in management consulting, investment banking, corporate strategy, media/entertainment, or another highly analytical role
  • Strong proficiency in Excel, including comfort with pivot tables, lookups, and building clean, structured analyses that others can follow
  • Experience using business intelligence tools such as Tableau, Looker, or similar to pull, filter, and visualize data (no SQL or Python required, though any familiarity is a plus)
  • A genuine passion for TV, film, and streaming content, with curiosity about AVOD, FAST, and SVOD business models and how audiences discover and engage with content
  • Ability to structure ambiguous problems, frame clear hypotheses, and connect data to business decisions and trade-offs
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including experience building executive-ready PowerPoint decks and concise written summaries of complex analyses
  • High attention to detail, strong organization skills, and the ability to manage multiple projects and stakeholders in a fast-paced environment
  • A collaborative, low-ego working style and comfort operating in a test-and-learn environment where recommendations evolve with new data
