Partner with the best

You'll be the primary security services contact, ensuring successful integration and support of customers on our platform. You will learn and implement creative solutions helping customers leverage Akamai's security and web performance products to achieve desired outcomes. We apply project management skills to plan, coordinate, and deliver solutions based on Akamai's products, on time and with high quality.

As a Consultant II you will be responsible for:

  • Structuring and delivering project plans, assigning work to architects, organizing customer initiatives, organizing agendas and documentation
  • Ensuring customer success by understanding requirements, leveraging best practices and offering consulting services that meet customer needs
  • Collaborating with the account team to evaluate customer web architecture, helping develop a long-term web performance and security strategy
  • Working with security and web performance experts to solve technical problems, demonstrating Akamai's value, and communicating effectively with all audiences
  • Participating in training and projects contributing to best practices, maximizing efficiency, and improving methodology and service quality
  • Partnering cross-functionally to review and ensure integration efficiency, deliver high quality service and ensure customer engagement

Do what you love

To be successful in this role you will:

  • Have 5 years experience and a Bachelors degree in Computer Science, MIS, Engineering related field, or 5 years of active consulting experience in the IT industry
  • Be familiar with the current security landscape threats, OWASP Top 10, DDOS Attacks, Ransomware, security technology processes and concepts, security event management, and security compliance
  • Demonstrate experience in managing and delivering technical projects with an ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously
  • Demonstrate knowledge of core Internet technologies and protocols (DNS, HTTP/S, CDN, and web application architectures) to effectively manage cross-functional projects involving security and performance
  • Develop relationships that evolve a customer's security and performance posture that lead to product adoption and utilization
  • Have experience in technology automation, implementation, integration, and/or deployment in a web development or security organization
  • Demonstrate the ability to multitask, adapt and thrive within an ever-changing environment
  • Enjoy working as part of a global team with a real can-do attitude

Compensation

Akamai is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. For US based candidates only - the base salary for this position ranges from $91,600 - $190,400/year; a candidate’s salary is determined by various factors including, but not limited to, relevant work experience, skills, certifications and location. Compensation for candidates outside the US will vary. The compensation package may also include incentive compensation opportunities in the form of annual bonus or incentives, equity awards and an Employee Stock Purchase Plan (ESPP).
