Position: Business Intelligence Developer - Remote - Ability to obtain a Public Trust Technology Systems Overview REMOTE Business Intelligence Developer is needed for a contract opportunity with SOC's client. Must have the ability to obtain a Public Trust. Job Description Our client is seeking a Business Intelligence developer who will spearhead development and delivery of critical reports and dashboards to our business clients within the Federal Government. In this position, you will utilize your experience with arenaflex Power BI and other arenaflex reporting and analytic tools in a cloud based environment to help customers with their data needs. • Work directly with key stakeholders to understand data needs, document report requirements, provide user support • Design, develop, and implement operational and analytic reports, visualizations, dashboards, and data extracts utilizing arenaflex Power BI and other query tools • Reengineer existing Power BI and SSRS reports and dashboards to source data from Azure data lake, Synapse Analytics, and Azure SQL Managed Instance • Analyze current ETL logic and data sources such as SQL Server databases and SSAS cubes to understand required data transformations • Analyze report performance and implement performance tuning, including visual components, DAX queries, Power Query, data model, caching to deliver high performance reports • Utilize Azure cloud data services such as data lake (ADLS), data warehouse, Synapse Analytics, and Analysis Services, to design and develop optimal reports to meet user needs • Collaborate with other team members including business analyst, data modeler, data architect, and data engineers to support design and implementation of data models and data transformations for Power BI reports • Design, develop, and implement processes and functions to ensure data quality in reports and analytics • Support Power BI administration tasks, including work spaces, access controls, apps, gateway and cloud data source connections, monitoring reports usage, monitoring and tuning utilization of compute and storage capacity • Ensure alignment with data governance policies, processes, and procedures • Incorporate AI/ML techniques and functions (e.g. Power BI Copilot) to enhance data processing and reporting • Assist the Help Desk with problem and incident management • Assist with end user training • Actively support Agile Dev Ops process, including Program Increment planning • Actively engage in continuous learning to increase relevant skills Qualifications • Bachelor's degree and 8+ years of prior relevant experience • At least 4 years of demonstrated experience delivering reports, visualization, and analytics using Power BI, to include Power BI Cloud Service, Power BI desktop, Power BI Report Server • At least 4 years of experience working directly with business end users to understand requirements, develop reports, and provide ongoing support • Experience with the arenaflex Business Intelligence Stack (Power BI, SSAS, SSRS, and SSIS) • Experience tuning reports performance including optimizing DAX, Power Query, data models • Experience with SQL databases (OLTP, OLAP), flat file (e.g. excel) data sources, multi-dimensional models, TSQL, DAX/MDX, Power Query • Understanding of reports development using Azure based data services (Synapse Analytics) • Experience in Agile projects, working with a multi functional team • Strong analytical capabilities with proven problems solving skills • Must be detail oriented, and able to support multiple projects and tasks • Demonstrate continuous learning to increase relevant skills • Ability to work well in a team environment and/or work alone with limited supervision • Ability to successfully obtain a government-issued Public Trust clearance Preferred • Experience working on Federal government projects • Experience delivering reports in the law, HR, financial management, inventory, property, management domains • Power BI and arenaflex Azure data analytics related certifications • Experience supporting data governance • Experience with Design Thinking and Human Centered Design, and persona driven solutions driven solutions • Candidates with a Public Trust are preferred Employment Pre-requisites The following requirements must be met to be eligible for this position: successful completion of a background investigation, and drug urinalysis.
