Bookkeeper / Administrative Assistant

Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Bookkeeper / Administrative Assistant to join our dynamic team. This role combines essential bookkeeping responsibilities with administrative support, ensuring the smooth operation of financial processes and office functions. The ideal candidate will be energized by managing financial records, maintaining accurate accounts, and providing administrative assistance that keeps our organization running efficiently. Responsibilities

  • Manage and maintain accurate financial records using accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, or Quicken
  • Perform bank reconciliations, balance sheet reconciliations, and general ledger accounting to ensure financial accuracy
  • Process accounts payable and accounts receivable, including invoice entry and payment processing
  • Prepare journal entries, account analysis, and general ledger reconciliations following GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) standards
  • Assist with payroll processing and tax-related tasks, ensuring compliance with governmental regulations
  • Support budgeting activities and financial report writing to provide clear insights into organizational finances
  • Conduct account reconciliation and review of debits & credits to maintain precise financial data

Skills

  • Proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, or similar platforms
  • Strong understanding of corporate accounting principles, non-profit accounting practices, and governmental accounting standards
  • Experience with double-entry bookkeeping, journal entries, and general ledger management
  • Knowledge of financial concepts including account reconciliation, bank reconciliation, accounts payable/receivable, and account analysis
  • Familiarity with technical accounting procedures related to payroll, tax compliance, and budget management
  • Ability to perform 10 key typing efficiently for data entry tasks
  • Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail for maintaining accurate financial records and supporting administrative functions
