Bioinformatics Scientist II, Companion Diagnostics

You will be involved in the design and implementation of new NGS analysis pipelines in a regulated environment. This is an individual contributor role and will be fully home-based within the United States. In more details, you will… • Assume responsibility for designing, validating, and implementing new NGS analysis pipelines including software lifecycle (SLC) activities when applicable. • Provide statistical expertise for development projects. • Work in a fast-paced, high throughput environment to meet client driven timelines. • Interact directly with pharma clients and regulatory authorities, including the FDA. • Be responsible for revenue generation by bioinformatic client deliverables. • Participate in business development activities and presentations to win new business. • Support the Quality Management System with good documentation practice and audit internal activities as applicable. • Write SOPs, validation, and analysis reports. • Function in a fast-paced, high throughput environment. • Display and deliver with strong organizational skills and independent drive to sustain productivity and meet deadlines. • Exhibit strong interpersonal and teamwork skills • Prioritize workload to effectively manage several projects at any given time. • Quickly and competently train on and perform new and updated analysis methods. • Understand and perform specific tasks that need to be completed daily. • Identify and offer suggestions for process improvements. • Complete written reports as part of client deliverables. • Maintain strong mindfulness and ability to work under pressure to generate high quality data analysis. What we are looking for The Bioinformatics Scientist II will be most successful at Labcorp with: Experience and Education Requirements: • PhD in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Biostatistics, Biology, Biochemistry, or related field. Experience may be substituted for education. • 5+ years of post-degree bioinformatics experience working on NGS assays are required, including but not limited to RNA-Seq, WGS, WES, or targeted panels. • Full comfort working in a *nix-based, command line environment. Bash or other scripting skills are essential. • 5+ years of scientific programming using Python and/or R. • Proficiency in statistical analysis methodologies. • Demonstrated ability to design, code, and validate analysis pipelines. Preferred Qualifications are as follows: • Experience with WDL, CWL, or other workflow development languages. • Experience with implementing workflows in a cloud environment. • Experience with Jira, Git and Oracle Agile PML strongly preferred. • Experience in IVD product development, including design control, strongly preferred. Pay Range: $110,000 - $130,000 All job offers will be based on a candidate’s skills and prior relevant experience, applicable degrees/certifications, as well as internal equity and market data. The position is also eligible for an annual bonus under the Labcorp Bonus Plan. Bonuses are payable based on corporate and/or business segment performance and are subject to individual performance modifiers.
