Mr. Cooper is looking for an AVP, Data Analyst to join our Originations Marketing Team. The ideal candidate will have an immediate connection to Mr. Cooper’s core values: Challengers of Convention, Champions for our Customers, and Cheerleaders for our Team. This candidate will enjoy a fast-paced financial services environment company with over 6 million customers. This leader must be a high-energy and action-focused driver of results and revenue with a deep understanding of mortgage product marketing. The AVP, Data Analyst is responsible for the marketing database leadership and oversight of Mr. Cooper’s purchase originations initiatives. S/he must have the ability to extract insights from data and deliver any database project from beginning to end, including understanding business needs, training/validating models, and deploying AI/ML models to applications in a complex environment. In addition, the candidate must be able to use data from various sources to find new insights that help stakeholders understand mortgage originations complexities. This role requires a deep understanding of large data sets and how to leverage data to solve business challenges. S/he will combine strategic vision and tactical expertise to identify opportunities and create innovative solutions, which will serve the lead generation goals of the business. The ideal candidate keeps a sharp focus on customer retention. S/he will partner with marketing channel owners to plan and execute marketing strategies. This role requires a strategic thought leader who has the desire to roll up their sleeves and “do the work” in addition to leading a team of fellow experts. S/he will be expected to manage, inspire, and grow a high-performance team and will partner with various internal stakeholders beyond the marketing team to improve customer retention.

Responsibilities

  • Improve the performance of existing automation and algorithms.
  • Build and maintain end-to-end data pipelines.
  • Communicate key analytical results to stakeholders.
  • Allocate resources to deliver projects in a timely manner.
  • Engage, inspire, and manage a team to drive toward high performance and daily accountability.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in Data Science, Machine Learning, Computer Science, or related field or equivalent professional experience.
  • 10+ years of experience in a quantitative field such as data science or statistical modeling using cloud computing services.
  • Experience with statistical modeling techniques such as regression, support vector machines, and neural nets.
  • Experience with natural language processing is a plus.
  • Experience with deep learning algorithms such as convolutional neural networks and recurrent neural networks is a plus.
  • Mortgage experience is a plus.
  • Expertise with statistical modeling tool such as Python, R, AWS SageMaker, etc.
  • Proficiency in any SQL is required.
  • Prefer experience with cluster-computing framework, such as Hadoop or Spark.
  • Hands-on Experience on analyzing and modeling large datasets.
  • Excellent communication skills to 'tell a story' that provides insight into the data.
