The NIE Library and Information Services Centre is seeking creative, innovative and service-oriented candidates who are able to work independently and collaboratively in transforming the library for the 21st century.

The position supports the planning, development and maintenance of library systems, digital library services and technology-enabled facilities to meet the teaching, learning and research needs of the NIE community. The role involves systems and equipment support, project coordination, stakeholder collaboration and continuous improvement of digital workflows, working closely with library colleagues, Academic Departments, institutional stakeholders and external vendors.

Key Responsibilities
  • Administer, support and enhance library systems, digital library applications, and library IT and AV equipment, including computers, digital panels and audiovisual systems.
  • Coordinate systems, equipment and digital library projects, including planning, testing and documentation.
  • Liaise with internal stakeholders, IT partners and vendors on system and equipment implementation, support and maintenance.
  • Identify and implement opportunities for automation, AI-enabled tools and workflow improvement to support digitalisation and continuous improvement of library operations.
  • Conduct basic data analysis, reporting and dashboard development to support service evaluation and evidence-based decision-making.
  • Participate in and contribute to innovative digital library and systems-related projects.
General and liaison duties
  • Collaborate with various departments and Academic Departments on systems, digital library and technology-related projects.
  • Provide user support, training and documentation for library systems, equipment and digital tools.
  • Communicate and coordinate with library colleagues and users to support the effective use of systems and technologies.
  • Provide information desk services on scheduled evenings and weekends.
  • Contribute to library-wide initiatives, projects and service improvement activities.
Requirements
  • A University degree in any discipline; fresh graduates are welcome to apply.
  • Relevant internships, academic projects or practical experience will be considered.
  • Interest or exposure to project management, systems implementation or service delivery.
  • Ability to organise tasks, manage timelines and work collaboratively with multiple stakeholders.
  • Interest in digital technologies, automation, AI tools and technology-enabled learning spaces.
  • Knowledge or experience in one or more of the following will be advantageous:
  • Possessing the following skillsets will give the applicant an added advantage:
    • Programming or scripting (e.g. Python, JavaScript, SQL).
    • Automation tools, APIs, RPA, or low-code / no-code platforms.
    • Data analysis, reporting or visualisation.
    • IT systems support hardware, AV or digital display technologies.
  • Prior experience in a library or academic environment will be an advantage.
  • Good interpersonal, communication and organisational skills.
  • Willingness to learn, adapt and contribute to continuous service improvement.
