Accounts Assistant - Part Time

Position Description

An exciting opportunity to join a world-leading designer and manufacturer of specialized marine systems for the commercial ship, military ship and luxury yacht market sectors.

Immediate opening within Naiad Dynamics UK LTD. at our Southampton office reporting locally to the General Manager and the CFO. We are a dynamic team of professionals supplying our highly successful technology-based products worldwide. We are seeking a hands-on, organized, efficient, self-starter with an enthusiastic attitude.

Responsibilities

  • Processing vendor invoices either against goods receipts or directly coded to the general ledger
  • Issue customer invoices and manage payments received, chase payment where necessary
  • Multi-currency bank reconciliations and cashflow
  • Ensure payments are made to suppliers in a timely manner
  • Managing receipts for credit card expenses and cash
  • VAT returns
  • Processing journal entries
  • Assisting in monthly reporting
  • Reconciling statements for internal and external vendors and customers
  • Assisting with annual external audit
  • Maintaining the integrity of the general ledge accounts
  • Purchasing of stationary and office consumables
  • Perform light-touch credit control tasks
  • All other duties reasonably assigned by management.

Qualifications

  • Accounting experience and understand double entry of debits and credits
  • Accounts payable and receivable experience advantageous
  • Attention to detail, accuracy and integrity are key attributes
  • A team player not afraid of understanding wider aspects of the business and supporting where and when possible
  • Understanding and operating within the company quality procedures
  • Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration with internal teams and external suppliers.
  • Computer literate and efficient, Sage 200 and Expensify would be preferable, Microsoft Office applications, Excel and Word.
