100% REMOTE Paralegal for non profit 501c Governance and Policy

VALiNTRY is seeking an experienced Paralegal specializing in Governance and Policy to support a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization. This 100% remote position operates on an Eastern Time Zone schedule and offers a meaningful opportunity to strengthen governance, compliance, and enterprise policy frameworks.

Compensation: $50.00 – $60.00/hour W2 (commensurate with experience).
Candidates with additional skills that bring enterprise value may be considered for higher compensation.

Role Overview

The Paralegal, Governance and Policy (Remote) plays a vital role within the Legal and Risk Management Department—ensuring governance materials, corporate records, and organizational policies are compliant, organized, and accessible.

The ideal candidate is a detail-driven professional who thrives on structure and accuracy. You’ll manage policy documentation lifecycles, governance archives, and help shape the systems that support nonprofit accountability and transparency.

Key Responsibilities

Governance Administration (35%)

  • Develop, organize, and maintain governance systems and archives.

  • Maintain corporate records in compliance with nonprofit and retention policies.

  • Ensure timely documentation of board and organizational governance activities.

Policy Management Support (35%)

  • Support creation and maintenance of policy templates and workflows.

  • Manage the enterprise policy repository for accuracy and accessibility.

  • Monitor version control, regulatory alignment, and content quality.

Cross-Functional & Special Projects (30%)

  • Provide research and administrative support across legal, governance, and policy projects.

  • Assist with process improvements and governance system enhancements.

  • Work collaboratively to strengthen compliance and policy infrastructure.

Qualifications

  • Education: Associate degree or Paralegal Certificate required; Bachelor’s in Legal Studies, Public Administration, or Business preferred.

  • Experience: 3+ years in paralegal, nonprofit governance, or policy administration roles preferred.

  • Skills:

    • Strong organization and document management abilities.

    • Excellent written and verbal communication.

    • Ability to summarize and interpret complex information clearly.

    • Experience in Microsoft 365 (Word, Excel, SharePoint, Teams).

    • Understanding of nonprofit governance, policy management, or legal operations.
